The lock down ended, but that renewed love for gaming did not. The Steam Deck is either the luckiest or the most brilliantly timed console in a couple of decades. I wanted to support gaming on Linux so I was quick to pluck down my 5 bucks and then later 394 more. But that was not the only reason. Not at all... I was stuck at home on my PC watching the freedom my kids had with their Switch. Their were 10s of millions of adults in the USA probably all thinking something similar at the time the deck was announced... Nearly every person I know ordered.

If it was brilliantly timed it would have been available in brick & mortar stores two years ago. It's the Nintendo Switch that was 'brilliantly timed' to take advantage of a pandemic surge, and even that timing wasn't all that brilliant since it already existed at that stage for quite some time.

They've already passed the one million mark so I'd say it's a very successful time for Valve. The Steam Deck 2 should be coming out in 2025-2026 since they have plans through 2024 for the first one Gabe said last March.

Well, first and foremost they have to ship steam decks to everyone who is on the waiting list. But besides that I think they're really just waiting for a. just the right hardware to be developed and b. for that hardware to be available in the quantity where getting your hands on a steam deck doesn't require being on a waiting list.

It's all just a regional/storage type diff, it makes sense, if you're making different models and in different regions and what not, it would be weird to hold so many models back that were created just so it's done in order of time

Just explain to them that you need more time or loan the money from someone like me. I asked my brother to loan me the money and when I get paid at the end of the month I'll pay him back. I find all these bits of news at odds with my experience. Originally my Steam Deck was slated for 3rd 1/4 delivery bu it has now slipped to 4th 1/4 so colour me disappointed.

That sounds more like there's been an error. Valve has been moving everyone up. There's no reason for them to move anyone back. But even if you are in the 4th quarter now you'll probably still be getting your email soon due to the massive uptick in production.

Probably depends on the region. Each region has a different queue, as does each model in each region. So 9 queues (and more once shipments to Asia begin if they haven’t already) So, for example, someone in US 64GB Q4 might get bumped up to Q3 and get their email, while someone else that reserved at the exact same time but reserved the US 512GB will still be in Q4.

To have one I regret buying it I have done whatever everyone already has from emulation to using steam store buying games it is useless specially buying verified games when really it’s not even capable of running it talk about bullshit!!! i bought it since I travel a lot as I said finally system that solves most of my problem! Really hope we can get a Global release soon. I'm from SEA, so my region would probably be one of the last region that would received a Steam Deck given the track record of SEA gamers always been the neglected child of the gaming industry. If they want to use Steam Deck to expand their user base beyond current PC gamers, they're going to have to sell this thing outside of Steam. They need to get it on Amazon and up on store shelves everywhere. Big marketing push too with TV commercials and targeted YouTube ads, print ads, hands on demos.
