Thanks for doing these types of videos. This is preparation for me when I do eventually get a Steam Deck. Also, I will have some convincing with my efriends who are console gamers. They are basically Switch diehards with some XBox and PS gamers. I am used to doing this type of stuff coming from the early days of Windows. I am hopeful in the future there will be less steps to get games running,

it works, same method, find your launcher and add it to steam, steam explorer won't let you search in its files, when you are in .steam search for... steam, and the folders will appear, search for the good compatdata/pfx/driveC etc...

Thank you so much for the guide video!! This method works and it's easier than the bottle method! One thing that is not working for me is that keyboard doesn't work in game. I have try wired, wireless, and blue tooth keyboards and they always stop working in OW2. Am I missing something?

You're talking about GE-Proton, not "Proton", the distinction is really important. You are fine to use a later version of GE-Proton, yes.

Are you aware that running any non steam game will create a prefix that occupy space and when deleting the non steam game to add another one, that old prefix stays in there. Everytime you remove a non steam game i recommend first go to settings > developer > delete proton files. If it is a game it will delete the saves, if it was used just to install the launcher it shouldn't be a problem unless you install the launcher within the prefix (default installation which is the C:/programfiles/) A prefix is basically a Windows environment for that specific app.
