That looks great, i download it later as well 👍🏻, the menu stuff is probably easy fixable by the devs, the companies in general put a lot of effort in the compatibility even with older games and add the 1280*800 resolutions.... I play the rpg games gothic 1 and 2 on the steam deck with some mods and added controller support ( which i only use for the save game name auto fill function). I am really happy with my steam deck. I honestly enjoy it quite a bit more than just playing on PC with the keyboard.

To avoid the UI problem with the cut off, just scale the UI a little bit down. Still readable text, and the UI fits into the screen.

Amazing game. I have quite a few (hundred) hours with this. Weird to see it payed with controller prompts, but the beautiful graphics still shine even on the smaller screen. Lovely stuff.

i have the gog version of this game. i have to check it out how it works on the deck... and i still haven't actually played the game more than 20 minutes. so i guess i need to fix this (sad, i have so many games i want to play and no time to play them and when i have the time i end up playing something i'm quite familiar because i don't have the energy to play something that i'm not familiar with - learning curve fatigue and all that) p.s. why do you use gloves on the deck? is this not your unit and you try to keep it pristine or something?

@@IcoKirov I’ve got the GOG version working using Lutris and the Lutris wine 7.2 version. Heroic didn’t work no matter what I tried. Current problem is the resolution is weird in that I cannot scroll to the bottom of the main menu so tinkering around with that at the moment (I think that’s because first launch of the game was in docked mode on a 1080p screen). I’ll update with more details if I get that working.

@@nehemiasigonzalez300 I tried installing it from the heroic launcher, and I can't actually run it. Tried different versions of proton and tried adding the exe as a non steam game to avoid the heroic launcher, but still can't run it. It stays in black screen. Not sure what I can do, maybe adding some argument to the run command can help...

I'm a big fan of this genre, playing Diablo in the early days. Grim Dawn is fantastic. I got pretty far, but need to get back to to finish it and move onto the expansions.

Just Proton 7. So far I've not had any problems with it locked to 40Hz.

I picked this up and started playing it. I'm quite enjoying it. Unfortunately I seem to only be able to map a handful of actions to the controller inputs. When I use other inputs, like say back paddles, they always seam to be duplicate bindings. Annoying, but I kind of stopped playing it and haven't gone back to tinkering yet.

For anyone curious, if you don't like the UI cutoff you can bump your resolution down a smidgen. Default is 16x10 ratio, but selecting the 16x9 and alternate resolution gives you the little black bars on the top and bottom, but eliminates all ui cropping issues.
