@@ShaneRounce Been using Moonlight since It was named Limelight (2015) a lot has changed and improved, you are correct It was not very related to your comment, just pointing It out because a lot of people just throw "Moonlight is better" and walks away and It grind my gears (not saying that you did) but really I just end up using Steam Remoteplay because is plain simple and you are not depending on Nvidia whatsoever, limiting the bandwith/FPS in remoteplay config just like Moonlight does gives you almost the same stability :p

Going to see if I get better Remote Play performance if I connect directly to the "mobile" hotspot on my PC vs letting it go via the router. Moonlight has no issues but I suspect that's where my Steam Remote Play fails (it's super choppy and audio laggy as all hell). Moonlight even handles streaming Valhalla to my Vita just fine. :)

@@Nanotechnician That's not entirely related to my comment but don't most PC gamers run a GPU that's under 10 years old? GTX600 series dropped in 2012. All modern GPUs laugh at Moonlight.

Moonlight requires a mandatory gtx 600 (and up) dedicated graphics card.

Have your Steam Deck on, install steam on your notebook, where you'd typically select a game to install; select the down arrow and select stream from steam deck. I used this from my desktop to my surface tablet with a ps4 controller. Might have to play with the steam remote settings but this should get you going.

I always get a black screen with Wayland, and a pipewire flag makes steam crash for me on Kubuntu. I've given up and just use X whenever I want to stream.

@@gamingonlinux Black screen issue. Video doesn't output to the steam deck from the Linux desktop PC, just audio. The only semi fix that works is launching steam via the pipewire command in the terminal but that solution is quite stuttery and there is this green bar at the bottom on the screen also. And the output ignores the device request for 120fps output also and locks at 60fps. From my reading online it may be a Wayland issue but then I have tried to switch to X11 on the host and the same issues occur so not sure what to say. Maybe an issue with AMD mesa drivers? Haven't tried proprietary but I don't know if that would fix it. I remember when I first switched to Linux on pop OS with my Nividia 3000 series card remote play seemed to work fine then on X11. That was also over a year ago now. For my system it's Fedora KDE with a 6000 series card and 5000 series and cpu.
