The Citadel DLC in ME3 was the only one that was chuggy on my desktop. Proton-GE was what I used, because I don't think proton, proper, had the fixes needed when I was playing it.

I know, it's crazy and it's all thanks to EA and how Origin handle game downloads. If it was a native Steam download they could've just made the launcher as main-game and the games free DLC to the main game.

Also trilogy mod manager kinda works on proton experimental with some flickering. Installing mods works fine. And just like that Pinnacle Station is back.

I run Linux on my PC and all the games I play work via proton or lutris. It's actually why I bought a steam deck cause I know my library has no issues so far.

Do the original ME game's work on Deck? Asking as I am avoiding & boycotting Legendary Edition due to the Overlord DLC for ME2 since that DLC had little changes beyond the graphics & enabling ableism, which being part of the spectrum was very, very upsetting to me. Love the series, not that particular DLC

Anyway to get the EA app that is installed to start offline. I need to Tether my phone to my steam deck to launch and then i can disconnect and it runs out and about. Although a Permenant solution would be good.

I own in through the EA app and I finally got it running using one of the GE Proton layers you can select in the Lutris app. I don't think you can do Proton Experimental with that for some reason. Anyway it looks and plays wonderfully! I'm glad to have it on the go finally as my original copies are for the PS3.

I played all through the mass effect games and no theyre not that great. Theyre over hyped. I read every text doccument dod everything possible ! Every crevice, everything explored ! And each game only took me around 20-26 hours to finish.

It works flawlessly on the deck and you can even use mods. Remember the LE lost the Pinnacle Station, but there is a mod that brings it back.

Mass Effect runs well on the Steam Deck, but its not flawless. There are periodic frame spikes. Still very much playable though.

Great to be reminded of this! I have experimental but I do need to add proton GE. Had it downloaded before but my deck has gone through the ringer a few different times. Tried to go into desktop mode and it blacked out. thought it was running really good for a while. But that switch has always made my heart stop a bit. Not easy for the deck to do.
