Well high settings 40fps is pretty good, locked at 40 would probably be decent enough, it's not the most intensive game. Go medium settings, lock to 50. Gotta say stable 50fps lock on this thing is really smooth, definitely not enough if you want to play quicker games like Dirt Rally or CoD for example, but for singleplayer it's great.

@@MiniMatthew We say that's a shame until a few years down the line and people are smoothly playing a port of the PS5 version on the Steam Deck 2. At some point we'll be grateful this version was ported. A bit rocky for now though!

It's a shame because they released the ps5 version not the ps4 version. Very disappointing. The ps4 version would easily be 60fps.

The shaders compiling at start is really cool! Hope more games do that. Also, definitely want to pick this up

I have tried several Uncharted games but I never got hooked on any of them. I always stop playing out of pure boredom. 😅 Perhaps because I am a person that value fun factor and gameplay value way above cinematic story telling. I just find the gameplay itself and the gameplay loops being incredibly uninspiring and boring... Ultimately the "game" is a on-rails cinematic experience with abysmal gameplay (an interactive movie if you will). You barely control your character (the path forward is often pre-determined, narrow and linear). Also, enemies are generally just boring hit-scan bullet sponges. I have tried so many times to understand why people love the Uncharted-series, because I really don't get what the fuzz is about 😅

@@user-yk1cw8im4h Was it? it's pretty much the same. Linear cinematic story telling on (I think) the same engine but with very basic crafting. I LOVED the game but purely gameplay-wise it's just 1 step ahead of Uncharted (which I also liked). I think that playing on the hardest difficulty, which for whatever reason is locked behind finishing a game once which should be a crime, actually makes the game unique to the point you feel like gameplay isn't that disconnected from the story. I mean, you have 15 targets, 3 revolver shots, 1 pistol shot, 2 shotgun shells and 3 arrows - figure it out. Not only does this make you feel like you need to scavenge to do anything but it sort of reflects the post-apocalyptic nature of the plot; on normal difficulty it's uncharted with extra steps.

Fair comment, but we are all different. For casual gamers this is a great experience in my opinion. :) For some the story is a great value alone, and gameplay can be simplified.

Steam deck is a beast

Not my type of game, but it is good to see this calibre of game verified right out the gate.

It's actually two games. Or at least 1,75 games. Lost Legacy is awesome. I mean, Claudia Black is amazing. Anyway, definitely picking this one up as soon as it goes on sale.

The biggest issue with the deck is the storage format. I hope that the steamdeck 2 or whatever successor is will have an m.2 2080 slot or mix it like the GPD win max 2 with a 2280 & a 2230. On my deck I’ve only put smaller games on it. But if we look at some of the other big series like Hitman (100gb +), Spider-Man, GOW, … even taken 7 at 70+gb, you will very quickly fill up all the space.

Micro SD card has been shown to not be much slower than internal. I have a 1tb installed on my deck and it works well

Micro SD does work well though, this was running on my Micro SD. They're getting bigger and cheaper quite quickly too! I don't think it's really a big problem. By the time the SD 2 comes out, they will likely use a faster Micro SD slot on it to take advantage. The only real issue is the shader cache, which is on the SSD and fills up quick.

As someone who has played all the games, uncharted 4 is my favorite game, it’s story and gameplay is just the best in the series

I wonder if naughty dog will release the original trilogy on pc as it would be great to play the Nathan Drake collection.
