The majority of yellow games have text that's too tiny to read, making them unplayable most of the time though :/ It's an issue I've learnt the hard way with purchases!

Games need to include the ability to adjust font size. Not just for steamdeck but also for people like my friend whom has issue reading small text.

Awesome news! Steam deck keeps on getting better. Quick question: why is the game running around 40 fps when both the cpu and a GPU have quite low loads? I've seen this in some of my games in the steam deck and can't find the reason why.

It's got to do with optimizations and with spikes or dips and performance. Setting at a flat 40 without any dips or spikes is much better than allowing the game to fluctuate. This especially cuz you can set the refresh rate of the screen as well to 40 Hertz. Additionally a percentage use for the GPU or the CPU does not really indicate how it's being used. A CPU being used at 40% but still be bottlenecked. It depends on what is happening in the games pipeline

Either it's thermal throttling, you set the frame limit to 40FPS or you set the max. TDP to something lower than max.. A bad optimized game can also be a reason.

sony is really growing up, im proud of them. there was a time where they wouldnt allow cross platform games on their consoles. sure hope they dont fuck it up by adding a launcher or something...

That's cool and all but I want quality over quantity. There's a ton of newer games like destiny 2 and some COD games I still have to run windows to get working and that's annoying. I still love my deck but it kinda sucks most of the shooters I play aren't verified or playable yet. It would be nice if we could run other game launchers to access the rest of our stuff.

@@ea-sk8er_775 fair enough but there's still a ton of games that don't work on steam deck because of proton compatibility and that sucks. And while it's easy to blame developers for not wanting to spend extra resources to make backlog compatibility updates to games that have been around for a while it still doesn't detract from the fact not using windows natively has caused artificial limitations for the steam deck. I love my steam deck but it still sucks I gotta hack it and use an unoptimized version of windows to get everything I have in my backlog working. I get they are giving us a steal in pricing because of those concessions but it still sucks. I see the headline "5k games now compatible!" But I can't help and think, "yeah a lot of that 5k is stuff most people don't really care about..."

@@o0mrrobot0o26 anti cheat has been working on proton, valve and epic made sure easy anti cheat works and is updated for steam deck since day one of steam deck, that's why apex legends, elden Ring and other easy anti cheat games work great because devs are updating their games with them. Same for battle eye, it's up to devs to update their games to use proton. Bungie has flat out refused to ever make an attempt at getting their games anti cheat to work with proton. What do you want valve to do? If Bungie doesn't want it then valve isn't gonna go against them. So definitely not valves fault, valve will work with anyone and get their anti cheat working with proton, but people like Bungie don't want to.

@@ea-sk8er_775 yeah I don't like having to load into desktop mode to do all that stuff. What I'm saying is it would be nice to have everything running natively. And Bungie isn't all their fault because it's proton that's holding it up. Halo infinite only just started working because valve ported anti cheat to proton. It's both valve's and Bungie's fault.

Blame Bungie for Destiny 2, they've said flat out they won't support the steam deck and will ban anyone who tries to get Destiny 2 working on the steam deck. As for other launchers, Ubisoft connect and origin work fine with steam deck, however valve doesn't really have the ability to force stuff like blizzard app and COD anti cheat to work on steam. Of COD was on steam then they could definitely do something about it.

@@gamingonlinux not so specific. All my "unsupported" games run well using proton GE 7.29. Otherwise i wouldn't be able to play dragon quest builders 2, dragon ball fighterZ, dragon ball kakarot, mortal kombat 11. Just to name a few

You don't need to use GE-Proton unless a game is actually broken with normal Proton. The people who keep telling everyone to use GE-Proton don't seem to quite understand. GE-Proton has a few extra fixes for a small set of specific games.

Why is the game you showed performing bad even tho both GPU & CPU usage are low? Bad Optimization or reliant on Single core or?

CS:GO's Retake mode is still broken and crashes the game as soon as the buy cards appear...

Really hope they start working/getting games working on some unsupported titles soon. Like more details when or what needs fixing under title unsupported would be nice. Over all though Valve is doing amazing work with this device. 👏

There's a healthy selection of my favourites in my library now fully verified on the Steam Deck. I've heard No Man's Sky runs unexpectedly well on the console. Now this is the kind of powerful and tempting (or whatever YouTube said about you XD) kind of content I subscribed for.
