Awe, I was hoping you'd mention me since I'm the one who posted about this and literally posted my changed script in the comments of the smaller text mod page. Regardless, great video and glad the info is out there. Still astounds me that you have to mod the game to change the text size.

I found it just by googling for the mods after seeing a comment on the website article about the text. I always aim to give credit where it is due but I never saw any comment from you on it 👍

that's strange, my text isn't heavily affected by FSR 2.1. However, text in Cyberpunk has never really been well adapted to the smaller screen and resolution. One thing I can recommend is to actually to get rid of unnecessary clutter on the screen. If you get rid of the mini map you actually start to learn how to navigate in the city by yourself (you start to recognize landmarks and such). Having the current mission on screen at all times just seems so incredibly unnecessary, so just get rid of that. and well, the important part; subtitles can have have its text size altered in the "Sound" menu. :) But yeah, this mod is good for the UI you can't change.

@@gamingonlinux Quality :) And it doesn't change the look of text if I lower it to Ultra Performance even. It does get slightly sharper at "native"... but it seems like it get just a slight blur when activating FSR 2.1. I run the game with minimal UI anyway, so for me it's not much of a problem. :) I cranked up the subtitle text to 62 and now it's very readible.

What FSR setting did you use? It has multiple settings you can change.

Late comment but to speed it up, in Kate you can do Edit -> Replace... Find: \d\.\d+ Replace: 1.5 Mode: Regular Expression Press Find All to make sure it finds all the numbers, then press Replace All. There aren't any numbers in the file besides the ones he mentions up to line 41 so that will replace every number with 1.5.

CDPR could just render HUD into separate texture, and then apply it as overlay, on the top of upscaled game scene. But instead it goes in the same pass and all text is blurry no matter the mod. =/

The game still doesn't support HUD scaling and there aren't mods for that, I just can't play Cyberpunk on the steam deck on its current situation.

This definitely helped a lot! However, after using 1.5 for every value, now a lot of text is actually way too big, and is cut off by the edge of the screen. Hitting your visual scanner on cars, for example, you can barely read half of the flavor text for them. Not a game breaker, and with this fix the relevant info is more easy to read, so I thank you. I will at some point try to go in and identify which values really do what, so I can fine tune everything to fit where it should. EDIT: Also, if CD Projekt were to implement a fix for this, what would be the process of removing your mod? Is it as simple as deleting that "scripts" folder? New to everything, trying to learn what I can. Thanks again.

Unrelated question, I’m curious what email client you are using? (I’m assuming that is the paper airplane icon). I’ve not found an email client that I’m very happy with for kde yet.

So I found out by typing Ctrl+R is fine and replace and I used it for finding all the numbers and replaced with 1.25(1.5 too big, 1.25 just right) , nice and easy!

You still got it working in 2023? Please enlighten me how. With 2.0 and 2.1 the smaller text mod is not working anymore. It was hidden at nexus, because of that. I downloaded it somewhere else and downgraded Cyberpunk but it’s still not working. It’s a bad joke that steam is considering Cyberpunk not only playable but "working great" on steam deck with this tiny text and menues.
