The #SteamDeck can run Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, but the performance is less than ideal even on the Low settings with FSR 2.0 on Balanced. Hey, tried it too on the Deck :D i got no issues @ all... got more Crashes on my Desktop PC.. on the Deck no one so far :D

Should try it with 8 or 16gb buffer and swappiness. Maybe better performance since its GPU heavy. And pin gpu on 1600.

yes, not a great performance overall... but i never thought it would run on the deck @ a playable state at all... i prefer the PC but for the Bed/Couch its an good option to serve for the emperor ^^

i managed to crash it on my deck but i messed with the user_settings.config - considering the issues with the settings in-game and performance i'd recommend it though

@@venusfallen i have a 3090 and it auto set ray tracing to medium and it was crashing and running poorly set it to low and got 20 more frames and no crashing

This is a fact. Im running on Manjaro with an i9-9900k and a 2070 super and Im hardly getting 60 FPS. I also noticed that in the config file RTX is turned on by default, with no way to turn it off in game, because RTX isnt supported on Linux for this game. Once I turned it off in the config file, I gained 20 fps.

I have noticeable artifacting (in changing LOD textures specifically as far as I can tell) particles/effects, everything short of UI If anybody else is having this sort of issue would love to see what we can do about that; so far I’ve been waiting on a new Proton Experimental Bleeding-Edge or proton GE version

Have been playing this on my high end gaming PC but hopefully it runs fine once the game comes out on the steam deck. I'm visiting my parents during the christmas break and won't have my PC with me.

I was cautious about this game, i played Vermintide 2 on my PC with AMD 2600x and 2080 Super and wasn't able to get stable 60FPS. Beeing the same devs i thougth that this game was going to be the same in terms of performance. It's really surprising that it's able to be played on the Deck.

@@upstarter My game doesn't actually let me adjust resolution, i wonder if that's the issue maybe. It just says N/A and if I try to adjust it the game crashes. I might look up info on that.

2 tenths of fuck all. I've done the cryoutility changes increasing swap size to 16gb, have uma buffer size set to 4gb, still runs like hot trash.

Wish they would’ve used 6 core 12 thread cpu on the deck 4 and 8 is the bare minimum these days for games. But I do love the deck and so glad it has sold good. Its the next iteration of the deck that excites me.

I've gone through several Darktide runs on my Steam Deck now, and I'm surprised how well it works in practice. It doesn't look all that pretty, especially because I have FSR set to "performance" but when I'm just focused on the game I find I can overlook the graphical issues and just have fun with it. The small screen does help a lot with that
