Sounds like good news! From the bit I have played of it, single player seems to work pretty good on the Steam Deck.

I've heard people sing that it runs fine such that I think that it shouldn't be labeled as unplayable but have a working when purchased that online functionalities gimped on Linux/Steam OS.

Nope. You can just verify files to have it put it back and since you can only currently play with anti-cheat off anyway, it's really no problem.

The sad thing is that Anti Cheat does work on Deck. But it broke Infinite and they won't fix it. It's perfectly doable. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

For me this would make me completely switch over to SteamOs, I'd be willing to wipe the dual boot on my micro SD card. The custom games browser is mainly why I love the MCC and I can't wait to play it on deck once they get the issues sorted

They run great, and if you're an OG Halo player like me who prefers the OG graphics, you should be able to play atleast 2-3 long levels and still have a little bit of battery left. The world is a much better place with Portable Halo!

Just to be clear, you won't be getting achievements with EAC disabled. But if you don't care about that, you're good to go right now! I've played through much of the Halo Reach campaign myself and had no trouble on my Fedora 36 installation.

I found out you can co-op with friends in the campaign if both parties choose to run without EAC enabled.

@@Hush.Elementz well we were both using steam decks. So yeah we had to have it disabled. There was some misconception going around that you couldn't co-op campaign with it disabled. Just stating my experience.

Actually it doesn't require you both in the same mode anyway. Having a player without EAC in your lobby just disables achievements for everyone in the session

@@Hush.Elementz they just fixed the broken game they launched, 343 still hasn't put splitscreen on PC and workshop support, and they also were planning to monetize it. Fixing the game is not something "exceptional" it should be the norm, and even then it took like 5 years after launch

Yeah you still have to login but Xbox Login has worked for a long time with Proton. Sounds like you’ve hit a different issue.

I heard some people make it sound like the Master Chief collection was playable on Steam Deck obviously without the anti cheat and yet it is a label as unplayable by Valve themselves so I googled it just Thursday lol. I wish that they would label games that do work just minus the anti-cheat would specify. I feel that if they did that they could get more sales I'm sure somebody saw Master Chief collection isn't supported and didn't buy it. Maybe they just wanted to relive the campaign again. Or maybe even experience it for the first time.

Yeah Valve's system for determining what games work is a little spotty. I bought "Abzu" or whatever that ocean game is called and it said it was fully compatible, yet after I booted it up none of the controls worked other then the touch pad and touch screen. Then I get MCC that works like a charm except for multiplayer and it says its "Not Playable" at all? WTF?

Ah, so MCC on steam deck is not abandoned, I thought it was, much like DMC HD collection and dmc4. But they are trying to get it to work, haven't been using my steam deck because of this tbh. Got steam on my pc after all. Been using my switch for my on the go needs atm.

I just bought Halo infinite for the steam deck. I downloaded it and installed it. When I go to play I can't get past the sign in screen. It freezes at the sign in screen. Can somebody please help me figure out how to fix this?

It's been nearly 6 months since they acknowledged the issue, I hope they haven't forgotten lol April 5th Edit: It finally happened! The wait was long but was totally worth it! MCC is finally fully playable with multiplayer! Time to stay up all night and play MCC!

Big update today! MCC finally got EAC support and it runs wonderfully with a few bugs. One the Easy Anit-Cheat on and off are reversed at the moment now on Steam deck, so you have to pick EAC Off to play online in Matchmaking and Custom Games.

Co-op for me is broken I get an internet interruption error of sort things then the game crashes I've multiple Linux distro only happens when the other player is playing on windows
