Battlefield 2042 is finally ready though. I can say that with over 100 hours of gameplay. FINALLY IS DONE AND NOT BUGGY ANTMORR

The bar really is that low at this point.

Pretty impressive but I've given up on games that draw over 15W and/or are not competitive with gamepads, there's so much out there that's a perfect fit for the deck like Furi (12-13W, best played with a controller, looks gorgeous), Euro/American truck simulator that's surprisingly great with gyro as camera (must use proton, native Linux has bad perfs) it would be great to make a community spreadsheet about those games that are a a great fit, unlike say GOW that needs FSR low settings and still overheats at 40fps

What difference does the Watts make? I also agree with you about Gyro and Trackpads.. it's all I use mainly and using anything else now just won't feel right. Is the Steam Deck the only hybrid that has Trackpads but also is a controller? It's awesome.

Holy moly, I gave up battlefield when I gave up windows, but I used to play it quite a bit... might have to give it a go again on my manjaro desktop, thank you papa Gaben :) I bought a steam deck that I don't even use and because of stuff like this, it still feels 100% worth it

Every Battlefield game before BF2042 works like a charm!

I noticed that you're using dx12, bf1 is know for the sub par optimization of its dx12 implementation, if you notice any slowdown, crashes or freezes, use dx11, not only on steam deck but on desktop too, mainly if you use an amd gpu, as dx12 in this game have no benefit other than bringing random stutters for no reason

@@lukevader5422 yes I know, just pointing out that this game had these problems since launch, at least with amd, on Linux I always played with dx11 because of this problem, could be gone now since the drivers really changed how they render and cache shaders of games since 2016 be it drivers on Windows or Linux, anyway it's just a heads up IF any problems appears, if not a single problem appear then just play normally and forget about this

Most stutters go away after playing for a few minutes as the shaders have to be compiled.All DX12/vulkan games have to compile shaders beforehand unlike runtime compilation by DX11. Also turn off control flow guard in exploit settings ( if you are on windows). This makes the experience smooth and in my case better than dx11.

Recording with stuttering audio as an issue sometimes?; maybe a CPU-bottleneck causing the audio encoder to not have enough headroom to actually properly digest the audio? Btw, appreciate your good quality videos. No sensation or clickbait, just good videos with actual good information and high quality gameplay. Btw, the site is even better of course ;)

Nah i have a powerful CPU and it reads and plays fine, just an OBS issue.

I was just playing it yesterday through my PS4 remote play despite purchasing it on Steam from the discount. Honestly, using remote play just makes everything lot more easier in terms of battery and the consumption of the hardware, but I’ll still give it a try

I just bought this over the weekend, another game getting it off of the Origin app I originally bought it on there as part of a bundle EA was offering at the time, but now how cheap it is on the Steam, I just got it.

I literally thought to myself this morning: "I wonder if BF1 runs on the deck" - low and behold: you've now answered that!

I'm always fascinated by how these games run on the Deck. If you could, before starting the gameplay, it might be wise to do a quick 10-15 second scroll of the graphical settings you're using, and any mentions to outside fixes. This is running a lot like the base PS4 version. But with what settings? That quick scroll would fix that.

Is there a way to get Origin launcher working outside of Bottles/Lutris, natively on SteamOS (same process as your Bnet OW2 video?)? And would performance be the same on there?

U Should Dock It, Hook Up Ur Mouse N Keyboard, N See How Well The Sensitive Goes For It Compared To The Window's Desktop Rigs, And Let's Compare, I Did Have To Stop Playing Certain Sequences On Red Dead Redemption 2 On The Deck, N Switched Over To My Windows Rig To Beat Horse Back Riding Missions Bc The Deck Just Wasn't Precise Enough To Allow Me To Beat Certain Missions, And Was Able To Easily On My Desktop. I Don't Have The Valve Dock Yet, So, I'd Love To See U Do A Calibration, Smooth, Sensitive Test On The Deck In GamePlay Compared To Windows On A Desktop. 🙏 Doing This Might Even Help Other's In Deciding To Buy Theirs. 😏

I'm on the crazy way of buying the deck just for BF1 multiplayer. I just wonder if I won't struggle with shooting on the small screen.

BF5 has aim assist for controllers. Wonder if the same is true for BF1. Sure you cant use the gyro or touchpad as accurately but it helps keep up with kbd players.

About playing on a controler. Use the flick stick! It's realy not hard to learn and makes it way easier. I've used the same settings from the flick stick video from YouTube where the guy plays halo infinite and its perfect

I have installed proton experimental and other version but when is active it's doesn't show me Vulcan or VK3D etc with performance layer from steam deck in the left corner...why?

i usually set the L4 back bumper to running in any game so i don’t have to hold down a joystick. you might also be able to set the button as a “tap to perform x action” instead of hold

If battlefield progress was cross save between playstation. I would be playing bf games on steam deck.
