This is literally *the* reason I'm as exited for the Steam Deck. Mine will be used as a Linux tablet more than a gaming device and I can use something better than a mobile keyboard on a from factor smaller than a laptop.

I hope they add back keyboard profiles for steam input. I liked using the "split trackpad" keyboard with control sticks, using the triggers to enter buttons. Niche case but still

@brandon_nope No, becasue with the steam controller, the keyboard are actually split so you know which thumb to use for specific keys.

I was wondering why they didn't have this at launch. I guess they needed to tweak it because the touchpads are a lot smaller than the Steam Controller. This has a learning curve but it is indeed faster if you got used to it.

Decrease the sensitivity? Not sure if thats an option, but thats how you would fix it lol

Ya know what would be faster than trackpad tapping? Using the gamepad keys as a chording keyboard. This is the feature that would make the Steam Deck the only device I would ever want/need ever again.

Stumbled upon this video and I just got my steam deck this week but my trackpads freak out when I try and type with them. Any recommendations on sensitivity settings or similar so I can get this working and usable? I notice in some games - the track pads act up when not being used on occasion as well.
