There's something weird with Liam's footage: I'm running at higher settings than him, without FSR or dynamic res of any kind enabled and get better (as in much more stable) performance. Only 90 minutes in though.

40fps honestly is all ya need

I played 2 hours so far on the Deck with 45 fps cap and a bunch of settings between low and medium. It runs very well and I'll probably complete the game on the Deck :) My only complaint would be that I feel the display settings menu is a bit too tiny for the Deck's screen.

I've put in 2.7hrs and got most of the backpacks and the towers. I'm loving it!!!!

Turn down textures. Mine was crashing on Very High, no error just freezes and lowering the textures to high fixed it for me. I'm using High Tex, 8x Aniso and then in order: high, ssao, on, high, low, low, med, med. Locked 30. It'll dip to 28 in the F.E.A.S.T. area without FSR (I set it to Quality).

Where it says 26.1w is that safe for the system? I thought the steam deck going over 15 watts is not intended or maybe i’m confused on what that is.

26w is the total draw of the system, tdp 15w is the max cpu+gpu can go, so yes, it's safe :)

15w is the TDP for the gpu/cpu I think, where that is showing the total system power for ram, fans, speakers, screen etc.

Yeah, I'm modding in the good face, this one in the remaster makes me feel weird.

I have a PS5, but picked this up again specifically for the Deck. Grabbed it from Instant Gaming for 47 bucks. With Uncharted and Last of Us also on the way the SD is quickly becoming a suped up Vita along with everything else it can do as well. The fact that this runs this well on a handheld is kind of amazing.

Nice video! I have a question. I've seen many comments regarding the SanDisk Ultra A1 being a cheap and good option for the Steam Deck. Is it really that much slower to load and boot games compared to the SanDisk extreme A2? And regarding in-game performance in AAA games, is there any difference at all between these two cards?

You won't see a huge amount of difference on the Deck really, we're talking likely a couple seconds I would think as the Deck doesn't use the speed of some of the top end super expensive cards.

I put a good amount time on it since yesterday and it's amazing on the Deck. I never actually finished it on the PS4 or PS5 but going all in now.

YouTube compression during the high motion just completely destroys most of the detail you're demoing

This is awesome but 25W is super heavy on the battery kind of like Horizon Zero Dawn, I was hoping this game would have a bit better battery life. Oh well at least it runs nicely.

While I know the Steam Deck is a low power machine, seeing the game CPU limited at 800p + FSR 2.0 on Quality (that's 67% rez scale) is hilarious to me.

This is a handheld with a game that just released running through a translation layer. Don't expect perfection right out of the gate, it was never even designed to run on the Steam Deck.

Where can I get the settings to run the game? Kinda new to gaming and the Steam Deck and want to play this game on it. Thanks

While i got the game to run smoothly at 30 fps with med/low settings the cpu gets really hot after about an hour of play i got 3 ⚠️ your cpu is getting too hot warning. I can’t imagine trying to play this game and charge the deck which makes it run hotter. And I have the old fan controls which makes the fan spin faster in most situations. I would like to see your temps just to see if we are similar. This is one place valve skimped out on i wish it had a cooler on par with the aya handhelds. Or the option to max out fans. While I love the deck i think its next iteration will be the one that really shines.

Medium + FSR2 45 lock is what I use mainly yes.

Bad guys don't use Arch and therefore miss the latest kernel patch btw. It's official.

It's a shame that the wired dualsense features only work if you install Windows.

Game came out in 2018. I for one didn't think this was ever gonna be on PC and now you can easily play it on a linux handheld? If you told me in 2018, I would have believed you to be insane.
