I tested the first area after you kill Tremonious. Steam Deck Resolution at low settings I'm getting around 30-45 fps.

MCC works perfectly at 60 fps if you launch without EAC, that means that there's no online though

Do you have to do any fancy file altering stuff or can I just download this to my steam deck...switch to experimental and play it?

Switch to experimental, done.

What settings are you using, I have everything preset to low and I’m getting like 45fps and then 30-40 in the open world.

@@UrbenLegend yea so for instance I had that on and I said well what if I set it to 40 max so it’s not so aggressive but still hold framerate, and then when I realized that was stupid I put it back to 60, the resolution plummeted and never went back. And yes even the menus were effected, completely unreadable. I had to close out and restart to correct it. Now i have it set to unlocked for the maximum framerate, and use the deck level option to lock it to 30 or else it’s just a messy back and fourth between 30 and say 45 constant up and down. I did read online some people are having more issues than others so my guess is it was a bad install. I’m gonna delete it and reinstall tomorrow and see if that irons out any of my problems. I even still have brutal audio desync so I’m guessing it’s something on my end that’s wrong

@@danquaza9275 It should not affect the menu. The resolution scaling only happens on the 3D graphics. Menu is full res at all times. Just to double check we're talking about the minimum and maximum framerate settings inside the game settings menu? I have the resolution set to 1280x800, and both min and max framerate set to 60.

@@UrbenLegend problem is when you do that the resolution tanks, like 500P, the menu is unreadable, so either it’s a glitch on my end, or he’s getting it somewhere else

If you set the minimum fps to 60, then it will increase fps at the cost of resolution, which is what Liam appears to be doing.

I’m also looking for open world footage on steamOS. Don’t own this on steam but considering getting it for my portable offline collection. But it’s not good enough on windows 11. I want to verify it is in fact playable…

The Mouse and Keyboard on this game is suboptimal. Controllers get a really healthy aim-assist. makes sniper shots sweet

Halo was build for controller on the original xbox. It plays real well

If there are still Steam Deck users that don’t know how to select proton experimental - that would surprise me more than anything else.

Yea Im very happy,I just played Online,although it wasn’t locked 60 FPS,there was no skip or Stutter,fps was going up and down but did not effect the Gameplay at all,I didn’t feel and slo downs and I was getting a lot of Kills and I captured a Flag to return for 1 point and end up Winning few min later

Proton is amazing, how a game can go from not launching at all to fully playable with few sacrifices really is super cool. Even though this is only the first level, the fact that it runs at 60 fps too on steam deck is just awesome, would love to see how it handles the open world portions of the game too. hats off to Valve and the team behind Proton.

I'm going to try it on my desktop ubuntu setup rn. (i9-9900k / 2080ti / 64gb ram) Still too busy playing LOTR: War in the North (Ps3) on steam deck

While Halo Infinite runs in the first mission at (mostly) 60fps I'd assume it tanks to 30 the moment you get into the open world - I had an old graphics card that I'd say is level in performance to the steam deck (it had the same vram at least) and I had that exact experience - interior missions and small maps would run smooth most of the time but in btb or the open world I'd be lucky to even get 45fps

Hello, can you help, I am trying to use Halo Infinite on Steam Deck, I was playing it fine under proton experimental and it was working fine on low settings, while doing some testing I cranked up the graphic settings and now the game won't play at all, it sticks on the loading screen everytime, I have tried reboot several times and still won't work

I want to add I'm also stuck at the splash screen (Press enter to start > circular loading icon > back to press enter to start). Not sure what's going on..If anyone has any ideas.

Is there anything else that needs to be done to get the game running on steam deck? I'm using proton experimental but the game keeps crashing after a short while

It is saying around 60fps but you are getting frame lag every 2 seconds.

Doesn't seem to work anymore. :(

@@gamingonlinux yeah i know, but i don't know why, i've tried to give you some more info about that subject, but youtube keeps deleting my responses even when i 'm not posting any url...so i don't know how to tell you more about that XD, but anyway you will find more info searching for "performance issues with update 3.3" on reddit, and there are reports of rdr2, witcher 3, Forza 5 , gow, elden ring....and it looks like a vram problem, so its going to scale fast if they don't act fast, and that is why i'm contacting you to talk with valve about that and give us an update.

I don't know why my post about the performance problems in the latest update that are being reported on reddit, twitter, steam forums etc regarding vram problems in games like gow, rdr2, Witcher 3 etc has been deteleted, so i repost it here, because i only want to ask you about contacting valve about that if you please like you did with the sttutering problem, because the complainings are growing and that isn't good for both steam deck and us , the customers.
