As far as I know, kde connect can not easily keep two savegame directories in sync while not being at home.

It might work better, has the ability to keep syncing and more. Some people found Warpinator didn't work for them.

@@pazzoeo thanks, I was wondering if theres any extra stuff I had to do manage this, but it sounds straightforward. and yeah, for transferring I was considering an USB stick/hard disk.

It's the same process as two windows PC, the only difference is that if the game has a native Linux version, steam will download the Linux executable and any other Linux specific file Usually its like 10mb of data, really If the game is gonna run through proton, steam won't need to download any file

As for the transfer itself, I'm sure syncthing will work, but game folders are big... I'd get an external hard drive or a big usb stick

Get the game folder and put it in your Deck's steamapps/common folder, then install the game again: Steam will see the files are already there, and won't download anything/only download what's missing, if anything is missing

It's possible you can do it with this tool, as long as you then copy the folder into steamapps/common where the rest of your games sit. I really don't know how it would work though with Proton...

The game is downloaded and stored locally on the Deck. You can access its files, yes. When in desktop mode Steam, right-click a game and somewhere in the menu ist something like "browse/manage local files".

@@gamingonlinux "...this is super basic entry level computing." True, but anyone with a basic understanding of file structure and transfer, can figure this stuff out on their own if needed. But titles like "quick and easy" mean you'll draw all types of user. And a surprising amount of new deck owners have never even had a their own PC.
