@@MarvinRock787 even if you're a power user it may be better to stay on stable. I've been on beta from the start and have been using Linux for a good decade but the recent beta did something that randomly shuts off the controller. I have no real way to diagnose something like this so my only option was to go back to stable. I should check if that's fixed though

Unless you are a power user or can self diagnose the occasional problem, stay on stable. The updates will get moved into the stable channel within a couple months.

For those that are completely tech ignorant or bordering on luddites, I agree with you. The Steam Deck isn't 100% for them. Unless they stick to the Steam Verified titles. But other than that, the SD is a perfect hand-held gaming machine that is flexible enough for nearly every other type of gamer. Especially younger people who are tech inclined. They will learn and absorb so much knowledge from the SD it is practically the best gift a parent could give their child for Christmas. Order early folks. LOL.

@@mechanicalmonk2020 i understand your take but there is lot of things that should be in the initial release. i think they probably need to hire more developers, this isn't Microsoft remember. Valve has less than 400 employees and i don't know how many work on the deck itself. let's just be glad it's in now.

The connection on wake resume has been an issue with a lot of users since they started shipping. I wouldn’t call this fix fast.

@@mechanicalmonk2020 I think the reason they didn't get around to this was most people probably only had the storage in the console itself and no SD cards, but I am sure that has changed enough for Valve to add this in.

Is it though? Arguably this is one of the most basic features that should exist in a system like this but it took them 9 months after release to get around to it. I love Valve and the fact that they're continuing to develop SteamOS and adding these options but some of this stuff is downright obvious and should have been in the initial release

That would be nice. Could add another setting to 'Always install to the default library' and leave that the default setting. Then those that have no idea what an install game library is will never see the option. Those that manage to put in a expansion storage card can certainly figure out another setting to allow them to choose which library to install to.

Yeah, it's great that they're adding that menu. By the way, you can also transfer games between the ssd and sd card without re-downloading them again. You can do that in settigns/storage.

I think that's not possible with that CPU, since it's powered off in sleep mode. Maybe, they could make some download-mode, where only the required components (motherboard, cpu, storage, network chip, ram, ...) are powered on and the rest that's not required for downloading games (controllers, screen, ...) are sleeping...

The fact that that's not a thing when installing a game in game mode is crazy.
