Big or small. They need to test their own patches or better yet request feedback from the community before officially releasing a specific feature. So if they're smaller size studio, It's less work for them when the stuff they actually release doesn't start generating more bug reports...

It seems to work for me. Or at least, it's consistently above 30. 39.16 average, 20 min, 79 max

@@gamingonlinux Yes, it does same as your vid. Resets to Ultra. That said the game seems better generally than it did when I got the deck. High settings, with only SS refelctions lowered is well above 30, sometimes 40 now.

Did you reset to Defaults and then set it to Steam Deck, and restart to see it fully take effect first before running the benchmark?

Actually, it appears that it doesn't actually do anything. It uses your last confirmed settings. If I set to nultra, then steam deck, I get the same as you. If I put back to what I had and then steam deck, I get what I wrote above.

Hopefully they get that sorted. I really enjoyed Cyberpunk and may do another run on it when I get my Steam Deck.

I do like the idea of devs adding a custom steam deck quality setting as long as they do it correctly and make sure it's tested.

Not enough time, need to make {game title here} game every 2-4 preferable 1 year.

It's like releasing features broken and fixing them later is just standard CDPR procedure at this point.

We finally did it, we've made it. Linux is getting the proper native Cyberpunk 2077 experience. We have our own official broken support just like all the other platforms.

I'm impressed that at 'ultra' the steam deck stayed mostly above 20fps, especially with all the frame rate problems the playstation's and xbox's have had.

Cyberpunk sucks donkey dicks at the best of times; it is typical they fuck the above up.

I find it kinda weird that in a recent IGN interview, Gaben said he wasn't expecting companies to release Deck-specific titles. Not only Valve, but all of gamingdom as a whole would benefit from better optimized games. GPU prices being ehat they are right now, the barrier to entry has increased by a very large margin compared to three years ago. I hope the existence of the steam deck kickstarts a new indie era of better optimized games with the deck as their benchmark target. Current state of things is very stale in general and something needs to change

A preset for the steam deck is not a deck specific title as in a deck exclusive. Valve like to see games beeing release for pc that also works on steamdeck or steam link with the steam input api.

I run the Steam Deck profile, linear fsr with 30 fps cap and 10 watt, and it runs smooth for me

Does anybody else get an error screen when they try to open the game on the deck?

You should be able to just reload and it should work, it happens to me sometimes too. Also, be sure to add the launch option to skip the CDPR launcher as it helps. Use "--launcher-skip".

How did you get it running on the Steam Deck? I have installed it via epic launcher and Heroic launcher but the game doesn't open at all

22fps with sudden spikes to 25 and then immediate dips down to 13fps not bad not great but not bad

***FINAL UPDATE***: I was right, and many months later they actually fixed it - https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/09/cyberpunk-2077-gets-a-huge-update-expansion-teaser-and-fixes-the-steam-deck-preset/ New Update: After some more fun investigating, the Steam Deck preset definitely doesn't work right. By itself, it sets High+Ultra but it's more than that. Going from Medium to Steam Deck and running the benchmark, it gave a higher performance than my video. Reloading the game, it then says it's preset to Ultra. So I set it to Steam Deck again and run benchmark to see really low performance. Then I set it to Low, go back to the menu, then back in and set again to Steam Deck and run then benchmark again, and it's the best performance I've seen yet. Cyberpunk seems to grab onto what preset you had last for Steam Deck, and any restart when you've set to Steam Deck seems to jack it back up to Ultra. So, the Steam Deck preset is definitely broken which is why other videos may show a different performance or visuals. Low: 46.31 average FPS Swapping Low to Steam Deck: 46.26 average FPS Medium: 36.72 average FPS Swapping Medium to Steam Deck: 36.30 average FPS High: 28.39 average FPS Swapping High to Steam Deck: 28.11 average FPS Go back to even just the menu after going through the presets and setting Steam Deck, then back into the benchmark: 22.07 average FPS as it seems to default Steam Deck preset to High+Ultra. Saw the same behaviour on desktop too.
