Legit me with the gameboy advance. I got it the year it came out, then I got the ds, ds lite, psp etc... handhelds just bring such amazing happiness ☺️

Yeah I really hope the steam deck gains mass appeal. But even if it doesn't, it will be device with the longevity of one of those older handheld consoles, simply because of it's versatility!

As someone from South America kind of hurts to hear these positive stories and comments about the steam deck because a good amount of people around where I live could use a device like this, I've seen a poll somewhere that a lot of people that play consoles would be willing to use Steam Deck as their first 'PC' device of some kind which is something game-changing when it attracts this much attention and many of my friends desperately could use a Steam Deck since lots of us are still stuck with using netbooks since it's cheap and affordable, the Steam Deck while pricey as soon as you get one you don't need to worry about ANYTHING else which makes me wanna get one to send to one of my friends but it's a big pain at this time because of the scalpers and barely anyone is selling one that is on a crazy price than already was, what i am hoping so much is that valve sells the Steam Deck somewhere in South America and on a big amount for all of us to enjoy, They can afford not being ONLY on Europe or US, Seriously valve Come on!

this is what i felt when i bought my dedicated emulation device (a powkiddy v90, a clone of the gba sp). sure i could play them on my phone, but it's just not the same. fast forward to right now and i'm running a pixel 3xl (strictly for gaming, not as phone) with a razer kishi. i've been loving it since it's doing what i wanted to do with my future steam deck: play all the retro stuff perfectly and decent gamecube and ps2 emulation. i was actually going to buy the AYN Odin while i waited for my deck reservation, but the pixel/kishi combo turned better than i had expected. of course, i'm still picking up a steamdeck once i get my reservation email, but for now, i'm working on my backlog of old console games i had always wanted to play/finish.

That "suspended mode" is what sold me this console

The first thing I thought of when I saw the Steam Deck was the Sega Game Gear. Loved that thing as a kid.
