I hate to admit it but I caved and bought one on eBay. I just can’t wait for this infinite post q3 when people who ordered within hours of it going for sale are just starting to get theirs. Screw that. I’ll just sell the one a eventually get or cancel.

Q2 Is June as well! So it's next week or next month. I'm in the same boat. Some calculators and estimators estimate it's anywhere from May 30th until June 16th. I'm so ready for it. Tomorrow my SD card will arrive and I have a list of games I wanna try on the Deck. I dumped som ROMs that I want to try to emulate and am thinking about taking a day off from work to get it all set up. So hyped!

People beware, i Bricked my steam deck screen by using a different charger than the steam deck comes with, dont use another charger!

That's probably more an issue with your charger than a deck problem. Any quality type c charger with appropriate wattage should be safe to use.

"Fixed being unable to connect to hidden wireless networks" I only saw this a couple of times in the Steam Deck Reddit, and it's prioritized and implemented. I appreciate how much the software team is listening.

that had been there since launch. if you hold the steam button in for a bit a help screen pops up showing all of the available Steam button Chorded options.

I still can't wait mine is scheduled for Q3 , I can't wait to play satisfactory and hope its upto my satisfaction 😌 , I also hope that valve will continue to support this OS and will be interesting to see when it becomes available to wider audiences if they have a vision / final version of the deck or not we will see, I'm from the UK but also wanted to mention that I ordered mine back in July 19th nearly a year ago and that's when I am expecting mine I just think its a coincidence being it be exactly 1y since ordering but it's mental to think that it has nearly been a year since it went live

I prefer the original fan curve (can switch back to it from parameters) : the CPU is cooler and the noise is not a problem so better durability.

I'd counter that argument with the idea that if you have the fan turning on and off constantly, you are putting more strain on the system because its constantly bouncing between 10 degree variables. Is it better to have a system that always runs 50 Celsius, or a system that runs at between 40 celsius and 50 celsius a hundred times a day? I actually side with a constant 50 Celsius being better. A refridgerator always runs better with longer and fewer cycles. Regardless, you can toggle the old fan curve back on in settings.

By any chance have anyone tried to use Steam In-Home Streaming from a linux host to any other client? So far only native linux games have worked for me (not all though) but when it comes to proton, the client receives audio and register input, but no video stream. It's true that my desktop setup is a bit weird, because I offload rendering to a secondary GPU (Vega 64 primary and RX 6900xt secondary) but even using the primary GPU to render yields the same results

Got mine yesterday love it so far only thing that’s really sucks is the battery but i knew that already. Yea can make it better with capping fps and messing with tdp but on a AAA games you will probably get 1:30-2 hours and on older stuff or indie games 3-6. The controls fill great and the fan is fine I’m used to gaming laptops which are way louder. I have the 256gb model with a 512 sd card and have them both close to full with a mix of 23 games. And the biggest game was fallout 4 almost 100 gigs. Really so far my favorite game to play on it is persona 4 golden bought it when it first came out on pc been waiting for the deck to play it. It was the reason I bought a ps vita. And it doesn’t take much power to play it I changed the refresh rate and and locked framerate to 40 plus took the tdp down to 10 watts. I can’t remember how much time i was getting but it was a good amount.

40 fps at 40 Hz really is amazing! You could be fooled to think that it's 60 fps if you didn't know. I didn't believe that it would be so good until I saw it myself, because 40 fps at 60 Hz looks quite choppy.

Maybe video about best laptops for Linux?

Still waiting and hopefully for desktop version for steam os. And supports both AMD and Nvidia GPUs.
