For me as an 64GB owner, I am asking myself, together with thousands of other players with the same problem, when Valve is going to release a fix/setting for to put compatdata and precached shader files together with the to be installed game on the same MicroSD card as an option. Due to the fact, that I have installed a good amount of games on five different MicroSD cards, my main storage of the 64GB model is full to the brim, with just a little bit over 2GB left of disk space. So I have to tinker and do the moving of the corresponding folders (after searching the game on protondb with the number) and relinking them to the folders, they came from. After such a long time, knowing this problem, it is a shame, that there is still no solution for it. I have a big pile of shame in my Steam account, but this problem would prevent me from buying some more ones like Cyberpunk, Forza Horizon and the upcoming Uncharted for my system, if I would do that myself. Bad marketing, IMHO. Because Valve loses money on the consoles, but making profit from selling games. And - not everyone is a tinkerer.

How many games do you need that you have maxxed out like this? Genuinely curious as I can't imagine this being an issue unless you are trying to carry several hundred games which is, in my opinion, completely unnecessary. Though maybe I don't understand enough about the Deck yet as I have yet to receive mine. Even so, changing the SSD is actually not as dangerous as they made it sound, is cheap, and is imo the best option for the 64GB models.

What problems?

Has anyone had a problem with the Guide Chord Configurations reverting back to default? Mine returned to default after the last update and will no longer allow any custom Configurations at all.

Hopefully the repairs are real fixes that improve all gaming compatibility, not just patches per game.

7.0-3 broken tekken 7 compatibility for me. Need to compile 7.0-2 back cuz 6.3 screws frame rate badly. Thanks for "improvements".

Yeah, I think this is a Ubisoft issue rather than a Proton one though. The issue started after they rolled out update 1.6.0 and I've heard some Windows users are affected too

I've been wanting Tempest 4000 to work since day one. I love colorful vector based graphics on hand held gaming devices. This one just never starts on Deck. I've heard it has to be ProtonGE version, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for future Proton versions on the Deck!

Just got my deck and playing my steam library on it is great. Linux gaming is the future in my opinion. The sooner I can cut ties to Windows the better it will be for the gaming industry.

Is there any way to get tdp control of steam deck in any linux PC, I actually wanted something like throttlestop in Windows.

Why is it 7.0-1, 7.0-2, and 7.0-3 ??? They replace each previous one. Couldn't they just keep them all and do like 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 and not remove the previous 7.0? I try to not even use normal proton any more and only use GE-Proton because of this. I had 2 games that worked perfectly add game breaking bugs going from 7.0-1 to 7.0-2 ... and instead of releasing it as a new version, they released it to replace 7.0-1 which is no longer available. This whole thing is stupid... How do they not understand version numbers and keeping previous versions available?

@@gamingonlinux They put a newer version of vkd3d and dxvk and expect no regressions or problems... its still improper versioning. They should release a new version every update and not replace the old one... there is a reason software is versioned.

@@AyaWetts All games are unsupported until they fix Wine / Proton to work with them. They absolutely do care about regressions, because a regression in one game can affect thousands.

@@gamingonlinux They do not care about regressions on "unsupported" games... there are unsupported/unknown games that work fine, and if they break them, I was told they don't care, because they don't support it. They could fix that easy just leaving all the versions available to choose from...

These bumps are not supposed to have regressions. If they do, open a ticket it on GitHub.

Patiently waiting for the new Persona games to drop because I for some reason still have enough hope left that they might just work. I did a test stream of Persona 4 Golden on my new machine (but sadly forgot which proton vesion I used there) and didn't have the random crashes, so if they don't do anything bad to P3 and P5 I might be able to play those.

Yes, and breaks Tekken 7....
