PS360-generation games are really perfect for the Deck in terms of battery life. you usually get around 5-6 hours, which makes the machine very much feel like a true handheld. But then again, 3 hours of Cyberpunk running with a locked 9W TDP isn't bad at all either. It's like playing on the first generation Switch, but with image quality and graphics being far superior in every way. :)

All I remember about crisis 3 was Nvidia arsing around with textures in the background to affect AMD cards. Wonder if all that stuff is still in the game. It was textures behind walls you couldn't even see.

You can use the in built fsr if you want higher settings

Definitely picking Crysis 2&3 remasters up at some point as they are firm favourites!

The download size is massive due to the heavily updated textures. The original is 1/5 the size. Since the deck is 800p anyways it can’t really take full advantage of the the hi res textures. At that point the only difference is that the OG uses baked shadows whilst the remaster uses global illumination to make more realistic shadows. The color grading was also toned down since the OG had rather high contrast colors. Had a blue-ish tint to it. As far as I know the Switch version used the assets of the original and had their global illumination applied. I guess my point/question would be is it better just to play the original on steam deck since there’s not a huge difference?

U sir deserve a medal of recognition, the original is the better way to go by far. It is the version I have. Takes up less space and plays better. Hell, the game is even good on switch too.

What's the difference from the remastered and the original? I don't see a difference. If anything I would recommend the original games for the simple fact u could more than likely run the game at a full 60 and thr highest resolution without hiccups because it's an older game. Playing this in 45fps with drops defeats the purpose of even playing it on the deck. Also 40 fos is the worst thing ever to be used in this day and age. I rather play at 30 than even 40. 40 feels very weird on deck games.

The first crysis remastered isn't great on steam deck but crysis 2 and 3 work very well.
