Yes, absolutely

The game has Denuvo which sucks. Just recently Denvuo broke my install of Like a Dragon. The only way to fix it was to reinstall the whole game.

@@gamingonlinux I'd argue it's more than just annoying and more so crippling the on the go experience if you're on a car trip or something. the game on steam deck should be better than on Switch in everyway possible but because Atlus (or maybe Sega be they are obsessed with drm) decided to put drm it's not going to be truly portable until they remove that cancer. Kind of ironic that a game about how some people in the world are shitty and that has a group of masked freedom seekers can't escape the reality that the big wigs care about protecting day one sale sooo much that they chain down and limit their game just so 2 people (or less) can't pirate the game for 3 days or something and every steam deck owner got a less portable experience because of it. also they didn't even remove drm 2 years after launch for Persona 4 so idk when P5 is going to be free of it.

That is the most likely reasoning yes.

This is a perfect example of what a deck verified game should be. A game that looks good, stable fps, good battery life steam deck button prompts, on screen keyboard automatically shows up when needed etc. Only downside only 720p but I can live with that. Other devs should take note. Also thanks gamingonlinux for always bringing us steam deck, proton and linux news.

I wish Valve would be more consistent with their verification. I've seen only displaying 720p drop something from verified to playable quite a few times. Seems that bigger, more hyped games seem to get a wide margin for compatibility...

You can actually do 720 native and it can render scale up to 200% so realistic 1440 before is downscales to deck screen so looks crisp unlike switches 720p screen

No it doesn't works while steam deck is Offline, so the game is useless on Steam deck and waste of money :/

Apparently their is so much overhead on the steam deck that you can use more than 100% render resolution for SSAA.

it just works.

I hope they put the SMT games on PC soon too. I want SMT 5 one pc.

This game is really tempting me to install windows on my SteamDeck for Games Pass. Can't afford to triple dip for the PC release but I feel like I would finally finish the game if I had it on a portable machine.

Pretty sure you’ll have to install windows I’ve heard setting up duel boot is the best thing since you’ll still have steam os. There should be quite a few windows on YouTube that can help you do this

I was introduced to Persona via smash bros; I’m only a PC and Nintendo gamer though so I dove into 3 and 4 via emulation and absolutey loved them (never finished 3… oops). I’ve been waiting for a Switch port of 5 every since and never got it… but now that it’s here I ended up wanting to get it on Steam for the deck instead! I have 0 regrets; plays at double the framerate of the Switch version and at full resolution. And as for the actual game it is visually SUCH a change from the PS2 games which is to be expected but everything is so fluid and stylized. Totally a 10/10 game for me so far.

IMPORTANT info for anyone playing on the steam deck, you need to go into the display settings and switch from fullscreen or borderless to WINDOW because the game seems to (for some reason) render at a different resolution slightly below native messing up the pixel scaling then scales up making the 3d ingame look fuzzy and lowres and utterly destroys text and 2d elements, this happens no matter what resolution you set or what you set the resolution scaling percentage to, if you enable window the game renders everything correctly,thankfully in steam UI on the deck it renders all windows in fullscreen so no file changes are needed to fix it unlike on my desktop where i had the same problem, it's a shockingly massive difference the 2d elements even at 720p should look super clean. I can see you have the problem especially by the games text in your video, the game shouldnt look like that even blown up on a large monitor.

Thx for your suggestion, will try it later. Always wondering why the picture quality so bad. One question though. How many fps that you get when in crowded areas like shibuya when graphic setting at high?

Sadly when I tried to play this on endeavour, I can't change settings without it crashing. Sucks because with my config I need to disable vsync at the very least or else it stutters.

there is a fix, newest GE-proton should work, proton experimental and/or hotfix might work too

Default resolution on this game makes it look well fuzzy. Shouldn't look like that. Under properties in game library setting the game resolution to 1920x1080 & ticking the box underneath to set resolution for internal & external display fixes the problem so text & graphics don't look so crap. This will affect battery but I play almost all the time plugged in so I don't need to worry about that.

Maximum settings, SMAA, 720p, the game runs beautifully. Mostly 60fps with a drop into the 50s here and there. If you change the refresh to 40 hz and lock the framerate to 40 fps, I get 5-6 hours of battery life, with the game drawing between 5 and 10 watts on average. Since this is a turn based RPG it doesn't suffer in the slightest from the increased latency caused by the frame limiter.

Its work with offline denevo??.. How need to save

Probably Denuvo issues?

The only thing that was a problem with Persona 5 Royal was uninstalling it brought up a hidden box you had to click ok on to uninstall it. Other than that, it really does run well!
