To my surprise Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was recently #SteamDeck Verified, even though many many parts of it cant hold 30FPS on the lowest details even in the first chapter. Plenty of it does perform well, but quite a lot doesnt. I tried it after verified - with cryoutilities - and had the same drops to 20 fps in the opening chapter. Really unpleasant experience, refunded. Another reason not to trust verified status for me (and another reason to be grateful of the steam refund policy I suppose).

I got high at 30 fps with fsr, so far it's been ok for me. Yeah I use the Cryoutilities wanted to add that in.

@@robbieburns3564 does not feel so bad running at 30fps on high with a stable graph too, I did try to do 40fps but made it unstable with the frame rate even at low setting in places alot going on.

what about turning the internal resolution down and turning on the steam decks native fsr? or does that destroy the ui?

I really don’t see the problem in tweaking things with cryoutilities. It’s the steam deck and it is pretty much made to be tweaked. So why not getting the best out of it? It is not something that is ridiculesly complicated or something that can go horribly wrong. There are tons of videos out on YT with simple tutorials and settings that match up for specific games. @@SickAzzTonez Easy to look up yes, but the reason they're not the defaults is they can have an adverse impact on games too. This is why creators absolutely need to note all the changes they've done to their system if they're going to showcase anything running on Steam Deck. Not just once, but every video needs to state what they use and so many just aren't.

There is nothing wrong with it, at all. The point is creators saying and showing performance of games in videos, giving their "best settings" and not telling you half of what they've actually done to their Steam Deck to get it to perform well. It's a disservice to viewers.

This is the kind of game I play on my TV since I'm running HoloISO on my living room box. If you really want to play it on the deck and happen to be at home, you might consider streaming it from a desktop. Unfortunately, a lot of these games coming out for the new consoles are not going to be optimized for lower-powered devices, which is a shame.

Wait till you reach the end game, it gets significantly worse. WIthout spoiling anything, that particular portion of the game has mega stutters, you'll feel like its a graphical novel. I even saw FPS like 2, 6,8,11. It was brutal.

surprised by this game. way better then i thought. if this story was split in two movies, those movie would both be awesome! perormnce with no cryo utilities, But the fsr2 mod, no sustainable 40, so i locked to 30. game still looks awesome at low. fsr2 mod causes ghosting in places, but no issue during gameplay.

It IS a poorly optimized games on PC and consoles too. Depending on the power of your PC rig you can brute force your way thru it to high FPS, but I've played it on the PS5 too and that first level causes some dips in its 60fps mode. Other levels seem to be fine. I think the 1st level detail (outside not inner areas) is more intense than the rest of the game.

Valve should just hire CryoByte as Head-of-Whatever, to reward him for his work. CryoUtilities make a night and day difference in many games. 😀

Just remember if you pick this up that it is based directly on the comic books, not on the movies, so don't expect the character models to resemble the actors in the movies, or to see plot points directly from the movies.
