I'm at the point where I just simply avoid games with 3rd party launchers and Denuvo. I'll take my money elsewhere and hopefully I'm not alone. These companies will never change unless we hurt their bottom line.

This, I never have a issue with my steam deck because even before I started gaming on linux I stopped buying games with Denuvo DRM or anything from Ubisoft, Activision, or EA. It just hasn't been worth it for a while, there's so many good indie games out there that don't have such a flippant disregard for their users.

Can I pick the communal brain please. Ubisoft gifted me this and a fair few games after the closure of Stadia. It looks like I need to use their Ubisoft Connect Windows software to install them, is there any known workaround for this on the deck to save me rebuying them on Steam? Many thanks from a total Linux/Deck Rookie.

This game had a rough beginning and quite honestly, full life span. Kind of odd to see it packed around previously announced Division 2 and WD Legion games. Breakpoint these days is a gem to play. I have yet to try it on PC, but playing it on Xbox is a wonderful experience. I ignored these war type of games mainly cuz they felt like a brofest. Actually playing them though, they're very much RPGs with the amount of weapons you swap out, loot caches, gear you can change, abilities and buffs you can apply. The Division and Ghost Recon Wildlands/Breakpoint are ARPGs. Replace a sword and shield with guns and a drone. Also, it's mandatory to provide commentary with a deep voice! Similar to playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you have to talk like Arthur.

Wildlands isn't an ARPG. And Ghost Recon Breakpoint now thank God gives you the ability to disable all the awful RPG mechanics and make it a true conventional shooter with light tactical shooter elements.

It really sucked on release like you said. I'm total with you they patched the game to a good experience. I love that you have a lot of options now. If it gets good fps on the Deck then it's worth a "playthrough" which can be months of gaming.

I bought the game 1 day ago on Steam. It's not working either. Unable to detect Uplay. I tried things to make it launch, but no one work. But on my laptop, it works well. Maybe i should refund. I want to play it on handheld, though i can't do anything

Resolution is stuck by 720p. Windowed mode is also not working on steam deck, set windowedmode to 0, no effect. :(((((((

This is one of the reasons why I will not take the step over to Linux for my main OS. I have a Steamdeck and I just play my steam games on it. Linux is still too far away to be good for gaming, there is too much "hands-on" and "tinkering" involved to get things to work. Even with steam games it's still the question of "is it supported?". I would LOVE to play my GoG, Connect, Rockstar, EA games but it just doesn't work well or not at all on the steamdeck. Same goes for emulation, there are no clear step by step guides to get these things working and each "guide" tells you to go a different route. We need big Linux youtubers who have been with linux for years to show us step by step what to install and how to get games working, and if there are issues where we can go or what to do to fix them.. Even better would be that Linux evolves and will do all the magic in the background and just make gaming work. I really want to ditch windows and go into Linux, I have been looking at A LOT of videos about it and what distro would be better and such, but the state of gaming on Linux (although improved a lot in recent years) is still way to shrouded in mystery, misery, uncertainty and anxiety.. Will my game work? How much do I need to do to make it work? When it breaks, what do I do? When I need to find specific files of the game, where do I find them? Will some new update break the game and make me start the cycle all over again? I grew up with windows 3.1 and Norton commander.. and since then have seen/used every windows OS that came after it. I grew used to just pressing download/install and then just start playing.. Need to know where the game files are? no problem.. Need to know where save files are? no problem.. Need to know where to be for mods? no problem.. and every software you need to enhance or mod the game will just install. In Linux if you need software you need to search if YOUR software has Linux support and if not you need to look for Linux alternatives that (most likely) are less powerful or useful then then software you are used to. I love the style of Linux and the fact it's lightweight, secure and modular.. But when I want to game, I want to game and not spend 10-30min getting my game to work after is has installed. Linus, in one of his videos spend more then an hour to get one of his games to work and he's also a windows user for most of his life. I don't get enjoyment out of spending time to get my game to work. I get enjoyment out of actually playing the game. I do hope that Linux will keep getting better so that I can make the jump to it in maybe 3-5 years from now. We need the same "ease of use" as we have in windows... Install the game (which also installs and set's up any software/settings that we need) and just click PLAY.. I don't play competitive games anymore, that time is behind me, but if even 30% of the games I play does not work or needs a shit-ton of workarounds, then Linux has not won me over yet. And the fact that almost every linux video throws words around like Lutris, Wine, Bottles, Dolphin, Proton GE, ProtonUp, and others without explaining what it does, why you need it and what to do when it's not working with it, then this only adds to the confusion and stress. These are problems you just don't have in windows (I never had at least). All you need is to install the game launchers and log into your account, install, play...

I don't have the game in steam, I had it on the ubisoft app so I just downloaded the ubisoft app in desktop mode, transferred the files from my computer to my SD and then on the app I selected the location where I had the game and it works well, I don't have any of the issues in this video or your issue. On my over clocked SD I can run the game on Vhigh graphics and still maintain 40fps.

Once you do what you did at the beginning of the video, will I be able to launch it straight from the deck or do I have to launch it from desktop mode every time? Apologies if you said in the video I may have missed it. New to the PC world btw, I've been a console player my whole life. I'm learning as I go.
