I'm also terrible at soul-like. It will be interesting if you make it to the end. Mortismal Gaming said in his review he died around 30 times on the final boss.

I have the game through PC gamepass only got pass the first boss, but this game seems promising for the deck. I’m tempted to buy it on steam to also show some support for the developers. I’m fairly new to souls games but love them and the lore has my interest heavily.

It's my first souls-like too, and I'm enjoying it. Second boss, the Scrapped Watchman, was testing ground for me. Died lots of times, I learned, and I beat him. Although I was thinking to stop playing, now I enjoy it. Good luck 🙂.

Wow. An Unreal powered game released in 2023 that actually runs well on release day?! It CAN be done! Also (and not to sound like that one Decktuber who always goes on about 'Golden 40') it looks like you might be able to get a solid 40fps on High.

This game looks promising and makes me think my Steam Deck is not yet obsolete (since more than a few games released in 2023 are having performance issues, not only on the Steam Deck but on stronger hardware as well,. I am looking at you Star Wars Jedi: Survivor among others).

@@gamingonlinux Yes, many years ago I jokingly suggested that game devs should get low performance hardware for development so that software (games) are well running on the users low to high-end machines. Maybe that should be a law or true at least for a good part of development and testing, which it does not seem to be 😕

What are the settings that you are using on Steam Deck? I am thinking of buying a deck but I am scared that they will announce a new device soon.

Even the original steamdeck is way more value than any other console. Hard to get the refurbished ones, but even the standard 256 or 512 LCD are worth way more than their price with the sheer versatility , ease of operation and access to the entire steam library . Like the other Souls games, I can't imagine that Lies is going to be significantly discounted anytime soon. Right now it's 30% off till April 16th and it's still $42. I guess that is as cheap as it gets for the next couple years at least.

Sorry to pull up an old video for everyone but I can never seem to get a smooth experience in this game on my new oled. I am using the same settings as Liam above with 45fps cap. even with everything on low the frames seem to spike down to 40 and up to 50 at times its never fully smooth. I'm running cryoutils with 4gb vram
