I finally moved to Linux after getting my Steam Deck. I sold my windows PC will get a new one maybe later, but Im able to work and play using the Steam Deck

@@Matruchus Probably docks the Steam Deck, attaches keyboard, mouse and monitor to it, like it's a laptop or NUC. Whether it's suitable choice depends on the job. Imagine walking in office with Steam Deck and taking notes on it or something tho 😹

Raytracing support on Steam Deck with Steam OS will be really interesting. Digital Foundry did that raytracing test with Windows on Deck and was largely pretty positive about it, finding that most stuff was actually surprisingly playable, though nothing at 60fps.

You can already play some games on Deck with RT. You just need to paste certain launch option. I launched Quake 2 RTX like 6 months ago on Steam Deck

It does give option to enable ray tracing in crysis 3 remastered on my steam deck, but im not sure if this is real ray tracing or something that is prerendered.

The WSL numbers are also significant. I wonder how much overlap there is between people who use linux alone and those using WSL. If one can combine them, then linux is way more popular than MacOS on Steam.

WSL is why my next work laptop will be windows rather than a grossly overpriced macbook pro. That they made it work so seemlessly in the Windows UI and VSCode is very impressive

The specific news in this is for Gamescope, HDR supports needs to be added into all compositors and drivers so eventually it will also be in KDE, GNOME etc

Hey Liam! Thank you for the very nice and to the point video! As for Pierre-Loup Griffais, as a native French speaker I'd say that the final "s" in Griffais is silent, just like the "p" in Loup (which you did correctly!). So I'd actually pronounce it pretty close to the way you did! That is of course supposing his name is of French origin, but it really looks like it.

had some weird error when repartitioning some space to windows and had to reimage. I decided that what I needed windows for wasn't worth the problems I was getting so I'm going back to full steamos as intended. since things are rolling along with Linux and steamos I'm fine with using a separate machine for windows.

I hope someday Valorant becomes playable on Linux. If that happens, I might actually switch to Linux entirely. It’s the reason I switched back to windows, dual booting was too much of a hassle

You can not even close the anticheat on windows while your computer is turned on without requring a restart too play the game instead so i doubt it.

Can’t wait for when Valve launches steam os for desktop PCs. Linux / vulkan api is future for pc gaming. Not bloated win 10/11 and bloated DX 11/12. The 4070ti= DOA at $850+ MSRP. It should been called 4060TI and sold at like $599. That would made sense instead this $799 bs.
