Cryo Utilities 2.0 is awesome, huge improvements over the previous versions, anyone interested should check Cryobyte33's YT channel to know more about it.

Can highly recommend cryoutilities. It's also an open source project, so I can first-hand vouch that this will not cause any damage to your steam deck.

Wouldn't locking it at 40hz on the SteamDeck do wonders too? you could probably mix up medium to low setting too instead of trying to hit 60fps at all low?

@@cperl79 the latency imo wouldn't be that noticeable unless you are extremely sensitive to delay between button presses, and that only ever applies in competitive fighting games, online fps shooters, soulslike games and platformers that require perfect button presses.
The latency you'd get at 40fps locked wouldn't make any difference in a game like this.

I feel locking the frame rate introduces controller latency, so for me I’d rather just leave it at 60 fps even if it’s never hits that mark just for controller response.

Something that helps a lot of stuff in gamescope, especially in regards to FSR, is running games in windowed mode instead of full screen. Tends to help on some games I've played. On top of this, lowering the resolution for problem games such as this below the usual 1280x720/800 resolutions and scaling it up with FSR to something playable. For example, there's a game called Supraland that is ROUGH on steam deck, but setting it to 1024x640 and upscaling with FSR makes it playable even though it still chews through the battery. If 1024x640 isn't enough, 800x500 works too but is much blurrier even with FSR.
Also, check if stuff is GPU or CPU bound and adjust clock speeds/powertools accordingly, steam deck uses an APU so that can move power focus back and forth and improve the framerate in certain games.

They need a ticket systems you can send in to request for games to be playable or to report bugs for certain games… Then they can prioritize what people really want playable and verified.

Does V-Sync need to be on at all?
If you're limiting the frame rate why not just turn it off?

The only thing in cryutilies which is helping is vm.swapinnes=1(not expanding of swapfile itself) and in theory disabling of compaction_proactiveness might reduce stutters, it's a shame that such a huge amount of myths are spreading like a virus because people does not tend to either read what exactly the are doing or do their own testing.

Cryoutilities is one of the best things that has ever happened to the Steam Deck, I've been using it for months now and its made the experience of using the deck a lot more pleasant.

Seeing this and Forest 1, I kinda wish they would remaster/ make a Dayz optimized for SD. I currently play the original onSD and bottom mapping is ridiculous
