It's a great game, people are reviewing because of blizzard, not the quality of the game.

proton experimental gives me 40fps and no utilization on gpu where proton ge 8-11 gives me 120fps. This works so much better than going through lutris or bottles. Also using just normal linux not through the steam deck

Nah man pretty sure it’s the customers that had purchased the game for money years ago and have been watching their game be completely destroyed by money grubbing companies. I think they are full fledged adults that have correct statements about the games current state.

Imo, this rating shows more about steam rating's problem than the actual game. Overwatch 2 doesn't deserve this rating, there are more games with way more ferocious and anti-consumer practices, specially mobile games.

I agree with you but it's not just the monetization problem. Apparently 2/3 of the reviews are from Chinese players who are forced to play on international servers on horrible ping because of the Blizzard-NetEase fiasco closing Chinese servers a while ago. Edit: Nvm, just saw that Liam talked about it... whoops lol

The Bnet to Steam migration has generally been so buttery-smooth that after linking accounts I changed my (Desktop) Playnite entry from a Bnet install to a Steam one. The issue I'm having on deck now is, amusingly, the inverse of the issue that was patched, since day 3 post Steam launch, on Deck the game will no longer detect *KBM* controls once you start playing with a joypad. This means you can't use the Steam-X Virtual Keyboard to enter chat or type any more, or you can't, for example, bind the back L and R buttons to keyboard binds if you want one-press communication options - like I used to have Z, X, V and G bound to them to instantly say thanks, ult status, push forward or pull back, and that was fine on day 2 but gone as of last night. Hoping that Blizzard and Valve keep up support, it's nice and smooth on Deck with the cache active and even if the lack of a joypad aim assist hurts some, it's great for playing QP as Lucio, Rein, Winston, Sigma, Mercy or a few other heroes. Would probably steer clear of competitive though!

Kind of shows the problem with user reviews imo. I get why people are annoyed at how ABK are handling the game, but this review score says absolutely nothing about the game in comparison to other games on Steam. Like, really? This extremely popular and polished game is somehow a worse product than the thousands of shovelware anime porn slideshows on here?

I hope this doesn't discourage blizzard from releasing they're others games on steam

Can't help but feel Hi-Rez/Evil moji really shit the bed here. Overwatch 2 being playable on deck before Paladins is crazy. They got Smite to work so I don't see what the hold up is. oh well guess I'm playing Overwatch 2.

Small note here, the game lacks aim assist on PC even when using a controller, both in the form of reticle friction and bullet magnetism. And if you want to play with a friend using a console, not only will they be matched with only PC players, but aim assist will be disabled for them as well! A perfect example of why cross play should use input method over the platform for matchmaking. Just lock kb&m if you start a game using a controller, or vise versa, and have an option to enable using both with a note that this will lock you into the kb&m player pool. This one really annoys me, as my brother has a physical disability that means he plays games using a mix of a joystick and buttons that appear as a keyboard to a computer, and he's never been able to fully enjoy overwatch because of this odd decision. And for anyone who suggests either buying a console or using a program to make buttons appear as controller inputs, I'm sorry, but disability already makes gaming cost much more both for buying accessible controls, the time needed to set those up. Consoles and PC games treat kb&m converters as cheating software due to jerks abusing them to gain aim assist on mice, so they're not an option either. It's a bad situation made worse by Blizzard's odd design choices.

They actually did enable aim assist for console players in crossplay lobbies way back at the end of season 1, it flew a bit under the radar in the patch notes

Sad that a good port to Steam is getting bad reviews. I don't care about the game, but it's not setting a precedent for other devs to follow due to the reviews. (like Ubisoft, whose Steam rereleases have been subpar)

Also, this might put off Blizzard from releasing Diablo 4 on Steam. Steam reviewers should be smarter and not jump on bandwagons, they are way worse games than this.

If you have problems with the controller on overwatch 2 from steam deck GO to: settings > display > from fullscreen to bordeless > quit the entire game > activate proton experimental > done.

Proton GE-Proton8-12 was released with some important detail, maybe worth a video: _FSR is no longer enabled by default as it was found to limit in-game resolutions in some games. To enable/use it you will need WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 alongside the usual options._

Not needing another launcher is such low-hanging fruit. I'd rather have seen Overwatch in a good, non-mishandled state and taken a laucnher in return. In fact, the lack of the launcher doesn't even free it from its always-online, mod-inhibiting shackles. Player numbers have gone way down and eventually this game will just cease to exist forever

Gyro on steam deck is by far the best with flip stick. Takes like an hour to get used to but it is amazing

Yo, my dude, I really think you should take some time to tweak things until you got the gyro working. For me, I had to disable the Yaw because combining it with roll just doesn't make sense.
