Hello! I think those issues are game issues. Strangely I have quite the opposite effect! My PC produces the black screen videos and the white background menu, but on the other side, all fine on Steam Deck! Also it can keep 40fps on Ultra settings with 1200x800 so I am happy with that!

Did you happen to test if the graphics settings are saved in the save file? A major pain point with the first game was that I constantly had to manually adjust all the settings when switching between PC and deck because it would always carry over the settings from the other device in the saves.

Thanks Liam, I've been curious about this one. I tend to like arcade racers. Is there a level editor? Building tracks was at least half the fun of real Hotwheels toys. And do the cars actually feel different to drive? Do your choices matter for certain tracks, and do some feel like upgrades? I don't care about the 2-year release gap, but the monetization is a big turn off. With that I'm inclined to just wishlist it for a couple years until the whole bundle with all cars and tracks is $10. By the way the gameplay footage kinda reminds me of F-Zero or its indie homage Super Pilot. Is there anything to that in the feel of the controls?

If you see the other games from Milestone, most of them don't have dlc, and those who have are not that expensive, they make mainly the Moto GP and Ride games, the price with the hot wheels franchise might have something to do with Mattel, you can see this with the forza horizon games, but even so, just like the Moto GP series, the first game was often on sale, and I'm expecting this to be the same in less than a year

Video's will probably end up working soon. I imagine it's that thing where Valve have automatically been informed that the videos are in the wrong codec and they'll now be reencoding them to push down as a shader cache update.
