In most games the first thing I do is map LB and RB to L4 and R4 respectively. Those shoulder buttons are so annoying to press on the Deck.

I was playing this game before I had to rma my deck some weeks ago. I haven't had motivation to continue the game, but I think I'll finish episode 2's final boss and start episdoe 3. It's one of my favorite games of this year. I enjoy my first person shooters with gyro, but I really enjoyed playing it especially when the gyro to mouse beta came out.

You should try using the gyro for aiming. It has a bit of a learning curve, but it's just so much more precise than the sticks. A tip for the gyro: disable vertical motion on the right joystick, and use only the gyro for vertical aiming. In that way, you do precise aiming with the gyro, and use the right joystick just to rotate around faster.

@@Somedudeonyoutube123 the idea is that you use a high enough sensitivity such that you don't get a bad viewing angle just be using the gyro normally. Of course sometimes you need to readjust, and for that you need some key/trigger to disable the gyro ("ratcheting").

It's just so weird to me to have to turn the steam deck to aim with gyro. This game works great with controller settings for me, I've never minded a little aim assist.
