Very disappointing... I wanted a plug-in that lets me re order controllers whenever and not just when another is plugged in. That would be a godsend for games like monster Hunter rise which freeze if the 2nd controller is used during vibration

I would LOVE a Video on how to set up external drives and sd cards on docks and usb hubs I cant get my SD to detect them in "gaming mode"

You need to format them first, click on the microSD card icon on the top bar. It shows a microSD and done deal, very barebones, but that's what it's saying. It probably needs ext4, btrfs or some other Linux filesystem

Has anyone's Deck gotten slower, or just takes long to boot?

The NVME SSDs typically don't have DRAM cache when in the 2230 sizes, so the closer they are to full, the slower they are.

How full is your storage? On a 2TB SSD cause my 1TB was getting closer to being maxed in capacity and it was slowing down, no longer the case though.

HLTB plugin was cool, but it was massive on screen. I ended up removing it. If you could I'd like to see how to set up Emuchievements plugin. I've tried a few times and it has never worked for me. No big loss but was curious since that would make the retro achievement experience that much better. Cheers

@@tastyjerkk you can already do this! Just have to disable paired joycons in the controller settings. They're a bit of a pain to map in single joycon mode but the functionality's all there

@@offspec nah yeah I can use two of em paired together, that works fine. I'd love to hook up a bunch of JoyCon and have them each act like a separate sideways controller with less buttons like it does on the Switch. Good for simple controls on party games and local games, stuff like that.

Do you mean the ability to pair two together? Valve added this a while back, I haven't tested it on my deck but on desktop linux I can easily use my joy-con paired.

Some of these plugins are so cool I'd love for them to just be implemented into the desktop version of Steam. Especially HLTB, I find it really useful. Often when I'm done with a game that took me 50+ hours, I want to play something short as a change of pace and the Steam Deck HLTB plugin is really awesome for making those choices more efficiently.

looking forward to updates on the controllertools plugin another plugin i really like is the steamgriddb one. it has all of the features i would have wanted in a single release. makes changing bad or nonexistant artwork out really easy

Valve had a hard time estimating battery life out of controllers using AA batteries, including the Steam controller and legacy Xbox controllers before Microsoft finally switched to rechargeable batteries. The tried and true method is to use a miniature battery tester on the individual AA batteries, make sure each voltage is above 1.5.

The most recent Xbox controller for the Series consoles still uses AA batteries by default. You have to buy the rechargeable pack separately for $25 bucks. As far as I know the only one that comes rechargeable is the Elite Series 2.

Liam, do you have any idea why the Deck overlay always shows us GAMESCOPE now and no longer VULKAN or DXVK? Is Vulkan curently borked on Deck or is this an intended change by Valve? Thanks

Vulkan is not broken, otherwise nothing would run. Likely intentional or just a HUD bug.

Funktioniert wunderbar👍. ich bin fast wahnsinnig geworden auf der suche nach einer möglichkeit den laduzustand vom dualsense controler auf dem steamdeck anzeigen zu lassen. Ich bin immerwieder erstaunt was man mit dem Steam Deck so alles machen kann. Bin gespannt was man so für nützliche sachen im Decky Loader gibt.
