Can't recommen chiaki and the forked versions enough for TLoU/TLoU II and their remasters for streaming from a console. TLoUII you'll have tonuse the forked version of Chiaki to be able to strun the gee tar but I just played those parts on console myself. Shame this port not running well on SteamDeck but appear Devs are motivated and acrively working on resolutions I'm sure they were beholden to the release date after HBO Season 1 concluded.

@@ThePsychoticWombat the ps4 version was the remastered, not a simple port like you often see, ps3 games have an entirely different architecture from it's successors, its why PS3 games on PS Plus have to be streamed on the cloud, devs do not want to even touch PS3 games... it may play similar but it still had to be built from scratch. All we are saying is the PS3 version is not the one to be porting, it's the ps4 remaster that is easier and is essentially what you're after.

@@xKayNee 🤔 What are you on about? The PS4 version, (not the later remaster) was barely changed from the PS3 one apart from framerate and resolution, I seriously doubt they had to rewrite much, yeah the PS3 is weird, but they probably just mapped all the SPU functions to cores/threads and called it a day. And all the "oh, we spent so much time rewriting this for PS4" is just Sony trying to justify to you paying full price for old games.

PS3 is one hell of console to develop with. Doing a port directly from PS3 probably is harder than the PS5 port we got. Maybe the PS4 remaster is easier to port instead? I’m assuming that was a pain in the arse to do.

@@gamingonlinux to the second point, I often find in troublesome games, like Hogwarts legacy that the steam os cap tends to product much smoother results. More often than not, in game caps are not implemented correctly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the case for this game considering how much of a mess it was. A really strong example of this is halo infinite which had a bad implementation of vsync, hdr, vrr, AND fps cap AND drs. So you really never know. …unless you tried it already,

I'm one of the people who gets the memory crash, Basically as soon as you hit 14GB usage, it slows to 3 - 4 fps then freezes, then I get a system crash a few seconds later. I actually finished LoU and the DLC on my Steam Deck. Patch 1.04 was released while I was finishing off Left Behind. The performance with 1.05 is better and the visuals are much better, but the crashes happen more frequently and more quickly. I used to get about 45 mins of play time before a crash. now it's more like 15 - 20 mins, even less if there are cut scenes between the action. I still love the game, but compared to something like Zero Dawn (which I am now playing) the performance and requirements are out of alignment with one another IMHO.
