Unfortunately it looks like AMF also does not work for that card (I have one and tested it). My guess here is polaris and higher since AMD dropped support for cards older than polaris.

Linux mint is based off Debian, you should be able to just follow AMD's normal instructions by installing the .deb: https://amdgpu-install.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ StreamFX install is the same across distros.

I think amf requires amdgpu-pro. So you have to edit settings to make sure obs launches with the correct driver.

@UCUMSHXWczvxHy9e8silnVNw i just switch my gpus Nvidia for host and nvenc works awesome and that screen capture plugin, AMD is just for VFIO. But before this i tried to use it it works good and I also played with AMF and amd pro drivers but for me it's not as that great as Nvidia one. Great video btw

Hey this video is outdated. Both my packages and Arch AUR have been updated to fix this -- the problem is you have to use Vulkan drivers from 21.40.2 or lower: Issue: https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/AMF/issues/334#issuecomment-1181396676 Arch AUR packages: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/amf-amdgpu-pro-fix https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vulkan-amdgpu-pro-fix https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lib32-vulkan-amdgpu-pro-fix Note: The AUR package says 22.20.1 but the vulkan-pro packages actually use 21.40.2 as the "fix": https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=amdgpu-pro-installer-fix#n14 https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=amdgpu-pro-installer-fix#n54 Fedora package scripts: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/amdgpu-pro-amf-fedora https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/amdgpu-pro-vulkan-fedora https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/gloriouseggroll/amdgpu-vulkan-switcher/ Note 2: With the updated packages you only need to run OBS with the vulkan pro driver. games can still be run with radv ALSO: This may not even be needed any more as the gstreamer-vaapi plugin kicks ass (it performs a million times better than the ffmpeg vaapi and AMF encoders): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWouopxGueQ

@@GloriousEggroll Okay then it probably makes sense to finally just switch to Nobara. I like to experiment in order to learn more but at this point I just have to admit that there's way more knowledge needed. Even if I get it working it's probably just a matter of time that it breaks again and I think that would just make me go crazy.

theres a new pending pr that fixes it so streamfx is not required but it needs to be patched in, nobara obs ships with it patched. also keep in mind amf really relies on working firmware. a recent firmware update broke it again, but firmware from 8/15 still works fine additional note -- any time you update firmware you need to generate initramfs (dracut -f on fedora) followed by a reboot
