Works fine here. Tested it yesterday on a 1660 super on Fedora 33, 465.27 drivers.

You can reach the files quicker like this: Cog button -> Administrate -> Local files

Also don't forget to backup any game settings or savegame prior to delete your prefix (mainly for game that don't support steam's cloud backup)

I don't know where to report this so I'm going to do it here - RE Village does not work. The game does launch but it will crash at the main menu if Vsync is disabled and even if it's enables, it will just crash in like 30 seconds or less when in game. This is on: Ryzen 7 5800x RX 6700 XT RADV 21.1.99 Arch Linux with the zen kernel The game doesn't crash with Proton Experimental but the the pre-rendered cinematics will not play and there is some annoying shadow flickering that's super obvious and makes the game unplayable. I always clean the prefixes and shadercache before switching the version of proton I'm using so it's not that. EDIT: Same thing with Mesa 21.2.0. EDIT2: The graphical issues are Mesa's fault not proton's, apparently .

Same here, but with nvidia gtx 1660 super. I actually managed to get a 24-hour lock (hate denuvo) after trying tkg, experimental proton and GE 6.8. The only ones getting to the menu and loading a new game were tkg and experimental proton.

No, the EASIEST way to check the Game ID is to go to Properties -> Updates and the App ID shows up at the bottom.

Since 6.1ge I've been having massive problems with doom eternal. Also Proton expetimental. I get mouse stuttering and frame drops. 6.8-1 ge fails to load the game.

I cant get red dead to run anymore.. tested this it installs everything again.But yeah I think will have to delete everything and re install it. FFS I guess I will do that,I am not sure its over 100gigs to do.

@@rodovanra6783 still u can just copy the game directory, no need to reinstall, unless the game files have been corrupted. The game is not tied to the prefix (or at least it hasn't appeared so in my experience). i recall not being able to simply copy some game directories under windows and have the game run on a different system, but that must have been due to registry entries which can be reinserted, or missing dependencies on a new system.. I'm no expert though

So far I haven't encountered a reason to ever reinstall a game. You don't even need to have the game directory inside the prefix (but that probably doesn't apply to launching from Steam, so for instance you could even have the game directory in a different drive and simply symlink it into the expected location within the prefix).

Ok, tried everything listed in this video and still cant get ffxiv to load launcher. Deleted prefix, restart steam, kill wine and it still wont launch. Have to use 6.14 for now. Anyone else manage to get it to work? edit: Forgot to say, this is for 6.15

Hello guys, i'm having a difficult time trying to run Forza horizon 4 with Manjaro KDE. The game crashes for me now during the "optimizing for your PC" part every time on Manjaro. Tried with Proton Experimental and the newest GE build with fresh prefixes, but no luck at all. My Pc Build is: *Manjaro KDE *Ryzen: 5 5600x *Nvidia GTX 1660 OC with DRIVER Version: 470.63.01 *Ram DDr4 16GB 3600 MHz I appreciate your help

While i have a fair few (old hardware related) problems to sift through this helped me actually fucking launch a game after my sudden windows exodus. i greatly enjoy linux's general performance but fuck running games on this fuck ass system. you mad bastards at least make it tolerable, keep up the good work. maybe next time ill have the foresight to format my main storage drive to EXT4

my workaround in general is to force a reinstall, by renaming the game folder (example add a "-" at the end of the folder like "Sonic Mania-"), and "uninstall the game" from steam, then remove the "-", and install the game again, that way steam only verifies files and install redistributable like the first time without redownload, I will keep in mind removing the prefix too as an option
