It's been a while since I did some HDR capture testing and I wanted to see how well it performs these days without needing a capture device.Here I tested using OBS with the proper P010 and Rec. 2100 settings for HDR capture, along with the following recording settings:45,000 bitrate, CBRPCM Audio 24FFmpeg VAAPI Encode, AV1GPU is RX 9070 XTCPU is 9800X3DOS is Nobara Linux 42Game captured using OBS_VKCAPTURE plugin, no capture card.Game is running using PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 and PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 with GE-Proton10-2Game is Path of Exile 2Unfortunately one down side of the OBS_VKCAPTURE is that it does not capture the mangohud overlay. I've opened a bug report for that. Game was running at max settings with VRR enabled, 120hz

Nice! looking pretty crisp, even over YT's compression. I've been tinkering with Proton GE 10.1 (and since today 10.2) to see how it behaves: I tested PoE2 (but in VKD3D/DX12 mode) and it worked properly in HDR. On the other hand, Monster Hunter World will bug out and show the game in a little square on the top left even at fullscreen (tho the HDR is recognised and seems to work) Thanks again for all your work eggy, you're a legend dude

Do the two environment variables work with other Proton versions (yet) or is this GE-only at the moment? I often use a build from TKG based on wine master and it would be nice if I could drop gamescope for HDR at least.

Probably YouTube being YouTube. I checked the video with ffprobe, definitely hdr source: Command: ffprobe -v quiet -show_streams -select_streams v:0 ~/2025-05-19\ 09-18-56.mkv | grep ^color_transfer= Output: color_transfer=smpte2084
