Just updated to plasma 6, thank you for all your work on Nobara. It has allowed me to make the ultimate home theater/game console. Playing Dolby Atmos and HDR content with kodi and being able to game in 4k hdr all on Linux has been a crazy to see for this long time user.

Hi, how do you got Kodi to play HDR content on Plasma? I couldn't get it to play hdr movies in HDR mode (it always played them on SDR) On the other hand, I could succesfully play HDR content but only on VLC or mpv.

@@dddk097777 Can you provide a link for instructions on getting Atmos working in Nobara? My current HTPC is 4K120fps from Intel GPU to LGC3 and then LGC3 HDMI to DENON ATMOS amp. Working all with Windows. But I want to switch to Linux, waiting for HDR and ATMOS support.

@@gnuway Yes and no. For gaming, NO. For Movies, There is an audio pass-through setting in kodi. Right now you need to make a script that kills pulse or pipewire. Then launches kodi using alsa audio only. That allows pass-through for some reason. Fortunately the next major release of kodi supposedly fixes this, but I haven't tested that yet. It can also be done using mpv but I never tried that.

if you're using firefox you won't, firefox doesn't currently support hdr playback.

I mean you recorded an HDR game into a video but the video is not HDR. I tried even on my TV who support Youtube HDR for sure with an obvious GUI to say its HDR, and the HDR mode isn't there. It just a standard 1440p 60hz video.

Hey, sorry to comment on an old video. Does the 4KX work OOTB, or are there some drivers needed to make it work? Looking to move on from my windows-only Avermedia Live Gamer 4K to something else, and the 4KX is cheaper than the AVMATRIX VC12-4K here.
