This is another 4k60 capture test. The difference here is instead of kdenlive, I used Davinci Resolve Studio to render the video, paired with a plugin that enables HEVC (H.265) and AAC software encoding without an nvidia gpu being needed. The plugin has a $79 annual fee with updates -or- a $99 one-time cost. This is not an advertisement for them, I'm not associated with them in any way. I had it crash on me a few times but it works.(2) The other option is to edit in Davinci Resolve/Studio, export using DNxHR-HQ which results in a very large file, then use ffmpeg to convert it to H.264/H.265 with AAC. Yes, it works, but it's a pain in the ass.(3) There is currently a bug with DRS 17.4.5 that breaks the plugin. MainConcept are working with DRS to fix it, If you use it, it's recommended to downgrade to DRS 17.4.4If you prefer DRS over kdenlive, and you want HEVC+AAC software encode support.. the plugin gets the job done. They are also planning on H.264 encode support.- I have tested the paid version and the demo version, both work in DRS 17.4.4- I have not tested it in standard DR, but it's just a plugin and should also work.
