Finally, a game with a proper benchmark! Mordor is upon us, finally releasing itself on Linux, thanks to Feral! People were really happy with the results so I wanted to see a straight up comparison, maybe not what we wanted at the end result but not bad either way! :)

What is the meaning of Linux compared with Windows in games when the game is written sweat on Windows and Linux is made only port?

Tor1919 People are curious and want to see how well it compares. I mention that it has been out for Windows for a long time so the results are expected, just how fairly does it compare? I wanted to see the results as well tbh and maybe you did, explaining why you're here? :P

Jakejw93 - Linux Gaming it's a shame since compositing in full screen can be disabled, and that means more fps in the linux games benchmarks.

Jakejw93 - Linux Gaming i see. anyway, no game runs in exclusive fullscreen mode (more like in borderless mode) on linux even if it's set to do so due to some complexity dealing with window managers (explanation coming from Vavle). so i presume, performance would be even greater if you ran the game in real, exclusive fullscreen on windows.

Eric Vlasov They were both Windowed as I run triple screen, so makes it hard to do fullscreen 1920x1080

the linux side looks sharper for some reason. i think linux renders a more crisp image

It is just me or graphics on Linux benchmark seem more sharp and vivid? The Windows one looks a little bit washed out. As for the FPS divide, OpenGL needs to die. :-)

linux games are all in OpenGl thus harder to render efficiently, linux lacks direct x obviously, but some day linux will be equal to or better than windows, and i support linux getting tired of windows and windows 10 has too many issues.

+Borgilian Not true, linux handles thing differently and the way that it does causes a graphics bottleneck so no amount of optimization is going to really make a difference. linux just cannot handle it. i like linux and i want it to succeed but its dated it needs a entire new kernal to progress any. and thats not likely to occur/
