With general desktop work use-case, the TV works just fine. What is different though is the fact that the subpixel layout is not RGB and that messes with the text a bit. At 100% scaling, working with sample excel data, notice the red line on the left side and the green line on the right side of the neutrally marked column: https://imgur.com/a/XEbyQeQ The text though, MS office does a pretty good job at masking their text so that it's a pleasant experience on an OLED. ClearType needs to be turned off though globally, otherwise almost all the text becomes a blurry mess. This however means that not every text looks as you're used to. Regarding overall reading experience, it's different without the smoothing, but something I've gotten used to pretty quickly. Ocular fatigue has been very similar to what I had with the previous XG35VQ ultrawide monitor and that's what has surprised me the most. I thought that using this screen would be pretty bad for daily terminal work, but it actually isn't any worse than with a regular monitor. But with that being said, I've only had it for a month and I could come to a different conclusion after more hours behind it. You could definitely force the resolution to have black bars surround the screen, but that has 2 drawbacks: 1) Less actual real-estate (pixels) to use 2) More un-even panel usage (burn-in fears) Though, that being said, it would definitely make it less eye-straining... or you could simply have a pitch black wallpaper, so that the pixels would be turned off and enjoy all the existing screen real-estate when needed. The pixel density should be enough as long as you don't expect retina-levels of perfection. Hope this even remotely helps. 🙂

@@chiefjudge8456 excuse me?! budget tech? It's more expensive than most popular lcd now. I walk out of a dark cave in uncharted 4 and have my head blown off by the bright sunlight. It's 700 peak brightness. If that is not enough for you, close your damn blinds man. Pixel density is also great. I com from 4k 27" ips monitor and tbh, I don't see pixels. It's shar as it should be. It is better than any other monitor I've had and I had ips, va, 240tn, 144hz, gsync, gsync ulimate... like 10 monitors in last 3 years. THE ONLY risk and downside is possible burn in. But it should be years before it develops. So I prefer to take years of having worse picture quality in years, rather than shit lcd today. LCD is shit hdr, ghosting(response times), bleeding, glowing... and many other issues. All available from day 1 on any lcd. voila

In terms of HDR capabilities, OLED is budget technology. This is why iPhone gets OLED and Pro Display XDR and iPad Pro get Mini-LED. You will never experience true HDR on an OLED panel, because they lack the peak brightness. The PG32UQX is an entire generation ahead of OLED displays when it comes to the HDR experience. Not to mention that terrible pixel density of those OLED TVs and the burn-in issues make that OLED panels unsuitable for use as a PC monitor. And then on top of that it lacks G-Sync Ultimate, 144hz, and so on. Overall a bad buy for a PC gamer.

@@kasperkorea I think we've not had C1 and CX on the market enough for most people to start noticing burn-in issues given that the amount of consumers who actually use these panels as PC monitors is pretty small. @@kallestofeles What a brilliantly long and elaborate reply. Thanks a million for that. So far, I have not heard of any cases where people are getting burn in on the CX / C1. As far as I know, the risk is minimal and will only happen if you leave the screen on all the time. So 4K distributed on a 48" does not appear grainy to you? I looked at the TV in the store and I could quite easily tell the pixels apart. Also, the text was very blurred. m Maybe the settings were off?

Thank you Kasper for stopping by! When doing 70% work on it, it really doesn't make sense to invest into an OLED. Although you could surely do it (and due to Covid I am also doing it right now) you wouldn't really benefit from it. 4k screen real-estate is awesome on the 48" panel and yes, I don't even have to use scaling, so in that sense it's really great, but when you mostly just work on the panel, I don't think that the long-term burn-in risks are worth it. Text size on it is something that you can get used to - it's small and I tend to "manually zoom myself back and forth" quite a lot, but it's manageable. When you increase the scaling in the OS though, then you might as well go for a 32" 4k monitor as the real-estate gains would be diminished. Text clarity though, yeah, the subpixel layout is not the regular RGB so ClearType is out of the question and everything looks super sharp with jagged edges... again, not eye-candy but you can get used to it. Regarding switching between TV and input modes... the TV actually remembers your settings for individual built-in apps and HDMI inputs. Meaning that you basically set your image profiles once per every application/input you use and it will remember those settings next time you use the app/input. For quickly accessing inputs and apps, you can map them to the remote's quick-launch and access them by long pressing numbers 1-9.

I have ran through the usual OLED screen test videos, but after the initial run tend to rather avoid them unless checking for image retention as every display has its faults and I'd rather live without the excessive anxiety. 😄 So your set is probably just fine. 🙂

The 30Hz limit comes from the work laptop's integrated GPU which simply does not support anything higher than that. 😅 Regarding zoomed-in question - what I meant was, exactly as you said, that the screen is simply too big for you to be able to comprehend the full image. It is way more easier to play strategy games on a smaller display or to make the games you run on the 48" screen smaller. Or if possible, one could also simply increase the distance between one-self and the TV to compensate but that's rarely an option without changing up the desk or the whole workplace. My apologies for not being very clear on the matter. 🙂

For those of you that are complaining about the daytime performance of the 48in C1 a bright room, then just purchased some knock out curtains to create the perfect environment for the stunning display of OLED. (Even with the added curtains/blinds, you will still save a fortune picking up the C1compared to buying that overpriced PG32UQX… just saying 😎 I have a LG C9 55in for my gaming consoles (Series x and PS5) and I have the ultra wide LG34GN for my pc (Alienware r11 with 3090 gpu) *Side note, Dell is the best place to get the new gpus with a pre built computer it is much cheaper than dealing with the scalpers* I like my monitor but it pales (literally) in color perfomance to the Oled. It is night and day, especially when I play the same games on both displays, for instance Resident Evil 8 looks orgasmic on my C9 Oled and it looks just great on my monitor. After listening to so many guys with bigger brains than myself talk about how some tvs/ lcd monitors struggle with their blacks and how they appear more gray. I never really gave that much thought until I had cyber punk running on my LG ultra wide display and then turn around saw it on my C9…. I was floored from the vibrance of colors and how super dark the blacks appeared on the oled compared to my monitor. It was just no going back for me! After watching your videos, I am seriously thinking of getting a C1 for the added gaming features in the 48 in to be my Second monitor. Your videos has really helped me out a lot in regards to purchasing this awesome tv as a gaming monitor for my pc needs.. 48in C1 OLED just makes more sense over the LG950GP (4K monitor ) that is priced over 800.00 with modest hdr performances. Thanks again! I am also looking forward to your desk set up with this tv because it is big and I am not sure where to position mine. 🥳

MiniLED suffers from blooming, slow response times compared to OLED, noisy and absurdly expensive monitors. sure you do get better HDR assuming the local dimming is good and you are a in a really bright room, but thse caveats ruin it. In a dark room, the HDR is amazing on the C1.

I feel like this depends more on the use case and what the potential buyer is looking for in a display. I will not speak for others here, but rather share my subjective opinion on the matter, so feel free to disagree. 😉 Regarding HDR on OLEDs. I feel like for my use case, where I use the panel in a room with a pretty decent light control (which is almost always very dimly lit), HDR performance is very decent on the C1. I do not have any professional numbers to show for it, hence also the subjectiveness of the matter, but when I watch bright HDR content in my dark room, with maxed out brightness settings, I don't really wish it to be any brighter. The difference between SDR and HDR is huge on the C1 and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. That being said, I also have not had the chance to try out the PG32UQX, which is probably way brighter than the C1. On the other hand, what matters to me the most, and is the sole reason I went with an OLED panel, are the self-emissive pixels and the perfect black levels. There are no amount of FALD zones (unless they manage so somehow cramp in one-zone-per-pixel) which could produce an equivalent contrast to what OLED panels are capable and that is a no-go for me. The pixel density and the subpixel layouts are indeed drawbacks to using an OLED for PC gaming and workflows along with the risk of permanent burn-in. This is simply something that the buyer must decide whether he/she can deal with the drawbacks in order to get the best possible contrast available. For me, it's definitely worth it and I am ready to replace this unit in 1-2 years time. Speaking of which the PG32UQX costs 2-3x the price of an LG C1 48" OLED, depending on your region, for which I am happy to spread the cost around and gamble upon how many years of usage I get from the C1. Regarding G-Sync Ultimate, 144Hz and so on... What realistic benefit would you get from a G-sync module which VRR/G-Sync compatible/FreeSync already doesn't cover? For me, I'm very glad that the TV does not come with a G-Sync module as that would lock it down to being only usable with Nvidia GPUs whereas I currently have a 6800XT (coming from 2080Ti). Regarding 144Hz - this is way overblown. There is pretty much no real difference that you can feel in responsiveness when moving from 120Hz to 144Hz. If you are a 1:1000000 pro-gamer who can tell the difference at a glance, then you probably shouldn't be looking at either of the displays mentioned in the topic as the good old TN is the way to go. Just my 2 cents on the matter. As said, that's just my opinion so feel free to disagree. The PG32UQX looks to be an absolute beast of a display, but it's just not spec'ed for my needs. 🙂

First off Francisco, thank you for the kind words and welcome! Woah... 630 USD + taxes... that sounds pretty awesome! I got mine for 1000eur in EU which was 200eur cheaper than what the CX went for. Don't know why, maybe they forgot to lower the CX pricing in my region. 😅 Regarding text, yes, it's definitely not 100% perfect. The best results you can get when you completely turn off ClearType and reboot the system. The text will appear more "jaggy" but at least it's no longer a blurry mess which tends to introduce eye-strain way faster. Some programs like Davinci Resolve also have some text artifacts when ClearType is turned off (font selection drop-down menu), but I've learned to simply accept it as a minor drawback to what is essentially a pretty awesome display. 😀

I've seen this somewhere in the forums before... are you using a quality HDMI2.1 cable as that could possibly be one of the culprits? Also, do you have another PC or laptop to test with? Doesn't have to be HDMI2.1 capable, just try to plug it into the same port and see whether HDMI2.0 connection works fine, then we can at least know whether it's TV that's causing it... Hope you still get it resolved as the panel itself produces an amazing picture.

I agree on this. I love Linux and would love to drive it probably on every device that I have around the house, but there are certain aspects about Linux where it excels and where it falls a bit short when comparing it to Windows. As much as I love the way Linux is built and its transparency to users, you really shouldn't "hammer a nail into a wall with a brick" for the lack of better analogy. I always hope that some day, there would be feature-parity between the OS'es, but for now, I'll simply use whatever works the best for my use-cases and keep on looking into the alternatives from time to time. That is not to say that I don't have Linux boxes around the house... 3/4 x86 PCs still run Arch here. 😅

Greetings Roger and glad you dropped by! 💜 You can definitely use the TV in 21:9 aspect ratios along with HDR and G-sync compatibility mode or FreeSync all at the same time - that's how I prefer to play most of my games as well. You can do 3440x1440 but I prefer to keep it at 3840x1620 which is a cut-down 4k 21:9 resolution. Runs better than 4k but keeps the 4k clarity/sharpness without any internal scaling. The pixel amount is still pretty huge, so you'd need a beefy GPU to drive it, but yeah, both are doable. 😉

The display does indeed dim in 2 scenarios: 1) When the pure white object takes up most of the screen (not very noticeable) 2) When in PC mode nothing changes on the screen for a couple of minutes. That one is definitely noticeable but I have only encountered it whilst doing work with text documents without any movement on the screen. When working with terminals and scrolling texts or simply browsing the web at the same time, it will not kick in. After a few months of usage, I've had it happen like around 3 times in total, so it's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned... though on the other hand, it is very handy should you leave your computer and the screensaver refuses to kick in for whatever reason. With the brightness generally speaking... it's more than enough for a room which has good light control. The reflections are the true culprit for this screen and if you don't have a way of managing them, then they can get very annoying very fast. If you have good curtains available and enjoy most of your entertainment content during the evening times, then this TV will be an absolute beast and you'll never want to go non-OLED, but if you enjoy dark content during daytime and don't have good light control in the room, you might be disappointed by this. I shall make another video soon enough regarding reflections to give a better overview of this issue so hopefully it will help you decide whether it's something you'd like to own or not. Regarding mitigations to disable ABL - I don't think that it's actually possible without modifying the firmware. Or maybe it's something which can be controlled via service remote... can't say for sure though as I don't have the special service remote myself.

Yep, the reflections are pretty bad on this TV. For the productivity work, it doesn't really matter that much, but for gaming and immersion, yep, have to do that in a very dimly lit room whilst ensuring that there would be no reflections present.

Just great as long as there's a way to change the FOV in-game. That's probably a personal thing, but I find the default FOV in most of the games on such a big screen to be very uncomfortable in FPS games. Luckily, a lot of games support changing it in the menus though.

Hi Dean! The TV weights 32.8 lbs or around 14.8kg without the stand and supports VESA mounting standard 300 x 200 (W x H) so you can theoretically use every mount which is up to this spec. The problem you'd face is that 300x200 VESA desk mounts are not really a thing and you'll mostly come across wall-mounts only. Luckily there are adapters available for 300x200, so this would be the way to go, but unfortunately it adds an extra cost and complexity to the setup. Regarding dividing screen in four - could you please elaborate a bit on what do you exactly mean? 🙂

Some will tell you yes, some will tell you no. I'm in the latter boat where I can say for sure that going from 60 to 100Hz was a night/day difference in terms of smoothness, but going above 100Hz has been barely noticeable. Since, for me, the difference between 240Hz and 120Hz is so minimal and we don't have the hardware to drive 240FPS @4k anyway in most bigger titles, taking the OLED with a better overall image quality is the way to go. Beware of the quirks and reflections though! 🙂

First off, thank you for dropping by! Secondly, I know how you feel as before I was even thinking about going OLED, Samsung G9 was the only monitor I had in my sight. After a ton of research and the CX/C1 being introduced to me, well, there was no doubt I had to go with OLED. G9 does have local-dimming zones, but they are edge-lit and the effect I've seen online has been awful. Now that I'm writing this, I just read that Samsung is planning on releasing an updated model of the G9 with 2048 FALD zones but even then, there will still be haloing around bright objects which is very distracting for my taste. I use my C1 as a 21:9 display when gaming and as a full 4k 16:9 display when working (100% scaling and all that amazing 4k screen real-estate is usable) and when set to 21:9 resolution, the size is just perfect for PC gaming. Given that I sit around 1m away from the screen, It's like a big ultrawide which you cannot move around unfortunately. 😅 Being a junkie for the image quality, I would take OLED over G9 any day of the week, but there are some annoyances which come with it. Gamma shift with VRR, manual TV on/off, babysitting burn-in and getting used to non-RGB quirks like green stripes on the display after Yellow items like text highlight. All in all though, I've come to terms with them and when I look back, these sacrifices I'm willing to make (along with getting a new OLED after a few years due to possible burn-in) in order to enjoy the perfect black levels and amazing image quality. Whew this was a long rant... hopefully it made some sense as well. 😅

That's definitely the biggest concern regarding this TV. I'll keep updating the situation with follow-up videos to showcase the panel degradation over time. Maybe after a year of heavy-usage, we can start drawing some conclusions whether it really is that big of an issue or not... well, to be honest, with an OLED it's really not a question of "if" but rather "when"... it is only suitable as a monitor if you're willing to replace it way more frequently than a regular LCD display. 🙂

@@shadiwon Glad that you love it, it's really an excellent piece of tech! 💜 Regarding calibration, I would suggest checking out HDTV Test's videos on the C1. Most important bits probably are: 0. Picture mode - game optimiser with gamma 2.2 (personal preference) 1. Set the PC input to PC and not HDMI 2. Enable HDMI deep color (4k option) 3. Set white balance to WARM 50 4. OLED light/brightness just set to whatever you like the best (I keep mine at 40 and use Energy Saving step as it works for my setup, though I would not recommend the Energy Saving step for everyone) 5. Sharpness at 0 (no need for PC) 6. Adjust logo brightness - HIGH (dimms the very bright logos the most) 7. Screen move - yes 8. Game optimiser settings should also be checked and enabled as per your taste Regarding pixel clean - it is done automatically every 4h of panel usage or so when you turn the TV off into standby mode. No need to perform the manual clean unless there are noticeable artifacts with the image - running this feature manually will shorten the overall lifespan of the panel a bit. When auto-hiding the taskbar, yeah, there's an annoying 1pixel dot at the corner of the screen but I wouldn't worry about it as even if it eventually gets degraded, how often would you find yourself getting annoyed by it? Not often I would think. 😁 And with the screen shift function, this 1px gets moved around a bit, so it isn't that bad. 10min wallpaper change should be enough. I keep mine at 1min, but it's probably excessive - main point is to keep the background pool varied and not only have like 4 images which all look similar. Regarding a dock - I have been simply pinning applications to the taskbar recently in order to avoid installing additional programs, but if you wish to try out a dock, then I've used RocketDock in the past with great success. It's free and still looks pretty sleek.

Thank you for dropping by! 💜 Regarding the desk setup, I'm not sure that the depth of your desk would suffice in order to comfortably use the 48" C1. I sit around 1m (~39 inches) away from the screen and find it to be pretty much perfect, but anything closer than that is just too uncomfortable for me. I believe you haven't tested the 65" Q9 on that desk yet? 😁 Anyways, the best recommendation I can give regarding the desk setup is to cut out the exact panel measurements from a cardboard and place it on the desk - that way you have a better picture how the end product will look and whether you could manage working with it. It's not perfect, but gives a pretty good idea of the end result. Also, keep in mind that the C1 has a "butt" sticking out from behind the panel which is around 20cm (~7.8 inches) in length. So if your desk has a depth of 19.7 inches and you have to sacrifice additional 7.8 inches to accommodate for the "TV butt", that only leaves you with 11.9 inches (~30cm) of desk room in front of the TV for keyboard and mouse. That is ok, but you would be sitting very close to the panel due to that. I was on the hype-train for the Samsung Odysee G9 before I found out about the LG CX/C9. I heard that the new G9 actually has proper FALD now, so that should be very interesting to see. Older models only have edge-lit dimming zones which were pretty awful. Personally, I would always go for the OLED due to its superior image quality but if the burn-in is a deal-breaker for you, the new G9 is definitely something I would look into. Regarding background - I would actually keep the background changing automatically and not have it as a perfect black. Reason being that the panel would then wear out more evenly and the potential image retention would not be as noticeable were it to happen. If you keep parts of the panel completely turned off (due to black background) then over a long-long-long period of time, these sections would start appearing brighter due to having less wear on their pixels. Maybe I'm mistaken with this, but that's how I do it and it just makes more sense to me this way. 😅 Desktop icons and taskbar are a no-no. Having the taskbar auto-hide is something you should get used to and instead of having desktop icons, start looking into pinning apps to the taskbar or use a dock with auto-hide for launching applications. Does the 4 year warranty also cover burn-in? If yes, then throw everything I just said out the window, get the C1, enjoy it to its fullest and replace it within the warranty period... if not, then... yeah, need to be a bit more careful with that. 🙂 But all in all... I must say that only the old CRT monitors have come this close to having such a beautiful image. The sad news is that once you have gotten used to OLED's quirks, every other display type just starts looking way too inferior for even considering. (or maybe I'm just losing my mind...) 😅

Thank you! Hmm, that's a good question. You can probably set the custom 32:9 resolution on it and play games that way, but I don't think it's that reasonable. The maximum I would go for is 21:9 which is pretty much perfect on this display. 32:9 would introduce such large black bars that it would be hard to see much of what's going on... but that's an excellent idea to investigate further. I'll mark it down and look further into this. 😉

Hi Jaycee, thanks for dropping by! Unfortunately I'm not sure whether it is currently possible. You can enable HDR in windows and play the game in borderless mode, but that simply blows up the image when I tested it with RE_Village. Whenever I enable HDR there in-game, it always forces the fullscreen so I would think that maybe it's a game-side limitation? I don't have many more HDR games to test around with though but that's a really good question in general. I'll check whether I can get some more HDR compatible games in my library and get back to you should I find a solution for this. 🙂

Hey JP and thank you for dropping by!💜 I remember that setting the proper chroma subsampling is possible via nvidia control panel and probably it will work just fine thanks to nvidia's closed source drivers - cannot be 100% sure though unfortunately as I don't have access to an nvidia GPU. 😢 Although that being said, even on AMD, what I can do to mitigate the chroma issues to a degree, is to set the 4K resolution locked to to 60Hz - that way I would get 444 chroma and the text would look nice. Downside to this is obviously a locked 60Hz desktop experience which is not very nice, but it's just for desktop use and one can always just switch it up for gaming as games do not really take advantage of 444 chroma that much. I hope that someone who has access to an nvidia GPU can comment further on this topic. By the way, which GPU do you have? Is it an Ampere (30xx series) card to take advantage of HDMI2.1?

Eventually yeah, they will probably make one. Though personally, I have come to love this huge panel even for PC use, so I wouldn't replace it for a smaller one... with this one, 21:9 gaming is amazing, but on a smaller panel, it wouldn't be doable... or it would, but wouldn't be as immersive. But I do vouch also for the smaller panels as this 48" takes up a ton of room and requires you to sit back quite a bit, hence requiring a lot of desk room.

Definitely ultrawide, it's way more immersive in my opinion. Though there are some games which actually utilize the FOV quite nicely and are a blast to play at full 4k instead of 21:9 - such as Brütal Legend for an example. Regarding ultrawide considerations for a daily productivity work - yes, I would go for an ultrawide without a second thought, unfortunately 21:9 OLED ultrawides are a fantasy which will most likely not arrive in the next 5-6 years as the regular 16:9 is just starting to stretch its legs, but this is the next best thing and the size is just perfect for a larger ultrawide viewport. (for gaming) Once you go OLED, it's really difficult to look back at anything LCD, similar to how it is with high refresh rates.

Thank you Jens! I only wish that the whole HDMI2.1 fiasco with OpenSource drivers would finally come to close... or AMD would start releasing closed source blobs like Nvidia to overcome those legal hurdles. It really hurts not being able to take full advantage of this great panel on Linux currently using AMD hardware. :(

Now that I've grown accustomed to the sheer size of this panel, well, I would say that 55" is actually doable. It takes some time getting used to, but at 4ft distance, it should be good... though there's also the butt to the tv which is 20cm, so if you cannot get it to full 4ft away from eyes-to-panel, it might look a bit weird. PPI should also not be that big of an issue, maybe a bit softer than the 48", but still very good. The biggest issue is that the games which don't allow you to change FOV are generally going to suck. On the 48", that's a problem at 1m away from the screen (3.2ft).

Hey Sebastian, thank you for dropping by! I think you mean the FancyZones feature provided by Microsoft PowerToys package. It's a must-have for organizing your windows on such a large display in my opinion. You can get it freely from the official git repository: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases/tag/v0.45.0 Hope this helps! If I mis-understood, let me know the exact timestamp of the feature you meant. :)

It's an excellent TV for HTPC but you should consider the environment first. If you run it mostly during the day with no ambient light control, then it might end up being a tad bit dim. If you have light control or view it mostly during evening/night, it's definitely bright enough.

Came here to say the same! Loved LBA1 & 2!! Remember running the CD for LBA2 back on an old beige pc box as a kid, then getting thrilled when I found LBA1 for the PSOne!! LBA2 never came to PlayStation thou unfortunately. Didn’t realise the open source thing, fingers crossed someone does!

Absolutely agreed! Now that the source code for both LBA1+2 has been opened for public, we can finally expect someone to take up the crown and re-master those properly for modern PCs. 💜

Hey Kristjan, With a 2080Ti, you would either be limited to 4k@60Hz using 444 chroma subsampling, or could probably do like 4k@120Hz on 420 chroma without HDR using 8bit colorspace. 1440p@120Hz should not be an issue, but 1440p on a 4k panel looks a bit blurry. Not a big problem if you sit a bit further away from the screen though.

It does dim the display indeed and it can only be turned off via service remote. In my use case it is almost never noticeable as I don't run large white windows in full screen and lesser the OLED brightness setting, the lesser the dimming effect. But if you do maximize a white window it is definitely noticeable.

@@emrahbuzoli2757 you don't loose on pixel density if you play on lower resolution but have the image centered. Your display will still be running at its native resolution and you cannot go any higher PPI than native. This should be exactly what you're looking for.

I set the image scaling as centered in drivers and lowered the resolution in game. The display would still be in 4k, but the game would render in a smaller one right in the middle of the screen.

@@kallestofeles Hiho! Did you finally made the switch to the C2 and share your experience? I have the C2 on my desk for 4 days now and the reflections are driving me insane. I am heavily thinking about returning it and get a 48" OLED monitor with matte screen and accept the reduced colour depth.

@@Hippocampic I wouldn't worry about burn in as long as necessary precautions are taken. I've run mine for a year now with 8-10h per day as I use it for both work with coding and gaming as the primary display and have had 0 indications of any image retention or degradation. But I use the panel at 40% brightness and energy savings auto mode, unless in HDR. So yeah, I wouldn't really worry about retention that much.

@@kallestofeles Ahhh that makes sense in regards to why there isn't much reflection for you. I think i'll need to play around with my tv positioning in regards to lightsource then. I have a question i'd like to ask though! How is the C1 in terms of OLED burn in for you? My brother is looking for a tv, and is considering between getting a 48inch LG C1 OLED or a 55inch Sony x90j. He uses it mostly for ps5 gaming. However he told me he games about 3/4 hours a day everyday, maybe 7/8hours on weekends. It made me alittle concerned about the burn in issues that might develop on an OLED. What do you think sir?

I feel your pain. As I use the C1 as my primary display device for the PC, my eyes are mostly positioned perpendicular at around 50-80% in reference to the screen, meaning that even if I turn on the ceiling lights, I would not see their direct reflections. That being said, when I wish to enjoy a specific piece of content without any reflections, I still keep all the lights off to get the most out of the panel. Whenever C2 is released, this C1 will move over to the living room and at that point, I will probably have a ton of more complaining to do regarding the reflections, but as it is right now, I can live with it, but I do understand the issue as even as I'm writing this comment in a dark room, with the only light source coming from behind the TV, I can see my hands in the reflection of the screen and I can understand how it is off-putting. The reality is that if we want perfect picture quality, we need to do compromises and regarding OLEDs and their reflective screens, ambient light is your worst enemy. I hope I didn't ramble off the topic too much here... (having taken more than 2 pints of gin+coke under me belt)... ... ... and that's the que as the little kid has woken... let me know if I can help any further or you'd wish to chat directly on the matter. 🙂
