I'll give you an example your face is a reflective surface, even in a pitch black room, your OLED will blast light at your face, which will reflect onto the screen. RGB keyboards, mice, everything. Unless you like using keyboards that are underneath the table.

You're talking theory, but in reality you underestimate the difficulty of eliminating reflections. Backlight bleed on modern screens isn't even noticeable 99% of the time on most equivalent price screens.

@@Sxs1n Maaaan I dunno, thats a tough cookie to decide. I almost would rather take reflection because I can at least adapt and change my room to fix reflection. I can't fix or change the backlight bleed.

@@Angellmbrr For me, the reflection is worse than any halo effect from backlight bleed. Reflections are way more distracting than any backlight halo.

Yes it is reflective as hell! Hahaha! Even when the curtains are closed and have no lights turn on, I see myself on the TV all the time, especially when using dark/black backgrounds. I think this can be fixed by putting a light bar on the top of the TV, I'm buying one but hope @Kallestofeles do this too and maybe create a quick video and confirms if this works or not.

Hey Francisco! Sure, I could do a take on that. Alas, why do you think a light bar would solve the reflection issue? It would simply create more bright surfaces which would reflect off the TV, or I'm mistaken?

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I've actually played Dota2 some more after recording this video and well, it is doable. I would say that the X34 makes more sense if you're competitive but if you're just casually playing, then you'll get used to it eventually. When you force a 21:9 resolution on this TV, then the result is pretty much the perfect ultrawide - not too big, not too small. But that's subjective... I've always found the 34" ultrawides just a tad too small. And yes, if you force an ultrawide resolution in Dota2, it's pretty bad-ass and definitely playable. 😅

you will loose flickering if VRR is turned off but still at 120hz. I just tried it on Death Trash and The Ascent.

Thank you for dropping by David! When you send a constant 60Hz signal to the TV and don't use VRR, then you would NOT get the flickering issue. The flicker/gamma shift happens due to pixel voltage variation on the panel when the refresh rate changes (if I'm mistaken, someone should pop in with a more technical explanation) - the bigger the FPS/refresh rate jump, more noticeable it is in darker areas of the screen.

@ryans413 you do have this issue, you just haven't noticed it. It's a hardware issue that no display manufacturer has solved as of yet.

This is a widely known issue. Ensure that you have adaptive sync/variable refresh rate tech enabled and have a go at a game with a dark scene whilst your FPS fluctuates in the VRR range - near black gamma will shift as it is an issue with how these panels are made.
