What's your take on motion blur? That's the first thing I switch off on any game. Looks shit and makes my head hurt. Down with blur!

Object motion blur is what most recent games use - it's not the same as traditional motion blur. Look it up. I leave it on.

@@kaigas007 motion blur for racing games and battlefield games for me. Racing gives a sense of speed and battlefield is just nostalgic because I used to play console lmao

@@kallestofeles exactly! what's the point of high refresh rate monitor if you going to switch on motion blur.

Yeah, don't like it either. If my sight wasn't blurry enough, the VA panel which I have for the monitor has built-in blur in dark scenes... maybe with an OLED panel you could experiment with motion blur, but I would probably still keep it off. I want my picture crisp and clear. :D

@@sajithsaji3606 nope. I have ran through 2080 Ti and can say that visually, they are identical. There are also visual enhancements for both parties, ex: it was a big thing when AMD released RIS (radeon image sharpening) and it made the textures, well, sharper and more clear in many cases. But then Nvidia now also has similar filters which you can apply and they work pretty much the same way. I would say that the main difference (when you don't consider the performance and feature-parity such as DLSS) is the interface. With nvidia, you will NEED to have an online account with Nvidia in order to use most of the GPUs features like ShadowPlay, Voice AI, etc because they are locked in the nvidia "experience app". They also have nvidia control panel (separate app) to control things like screen layouts and global graphical settings. With AMD, everything is package inside one Radeon Adrenalin Software app and there is no need to have any online accounts for the product you purchased. Got sidetracked a bit. :D Anyways, no, visually the images from AMD and Nvidia are the same. (historically AMD/ATI once had arguably better quality, but those days are long past)

Thank you for the kind words! With the latest info from RGT (yeah, rumor-mill), the next gen of RDNA3 will be chiplet-based and the leaks are ridiculous... top end units to have 2x80CU... but as always, rumor-mill, unlikely to ever happen. :D But the fidelity fx super resolution is something that will happen for sure and it can't arrive soon enough... let's hope it's any good in practice. =)

Older Polaris GPUs don't support ray-tracing on a hardware level hence you cannot really run this version on Quake II. If you wish to play the game, you could run the regular Quake II without the RTX.
