I have a ThinkPad T440s with a 240GB Kingston [ kingz-tuhn, king-stuhn ] SSD. I wanted more storage space, so I got a 1TB Western Digital SSD to replace the former. I also wanted to make sure I still had all my old files after the migration. you know your laptop is old and under powered if a one year newer laptop that has a i5 and yours is just a i3 2012 laptop that just has a hdd and not a ssd i need a new laptop :( but at least i got one hell of desktop pc :) anyway great video as always

Ky just found your vids last night good content!! My entry to linux was straight into arch it was very frustrating to install but im happy now. Anyways saw you have WM and DE have you tried to combine both? im testing that today XFCE and probably Xmonad think its something you might like

@@Kyjorei So I spent all of last night and this morning trying to configure Xmonad its in haskell so its tricky if you arent a very good programmer decided to give i3 a shot for fun and dude best wm yet to use with a DE. Ive used and configured Xmonad and Qtile before and they are great but for my needs and function the DE+WM is the way to go and i3 is simple and effective.

Actually, I gave it to a relative who was in need of a laptop. I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on it for them and they're still using it to this day as their daily driver. I've mostly been on a desktop and an old Acer C720P chromebook since this video, both running Debian.
