Let's get Hardware Encoding working in OBS on Linux (Xubuntu 18.04).
tl;dw  
- Use the 18.04 LTS version of any *buntu.
* sudo apt update -y
* sudo apt install ffmpeg -y (or just install ffmpeg via Software Center)
* get OBS PPA:
   - sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
   - sudo apt-get update
   - sudo apt-get install obs-studio
* fire up OBS, set NVENC in settings, do your happy dance
* profit

Thanks! This helped with another issue I was having too. NDI wouldn't show up with the one installed from the Software Center. I am a linux noob. This helped me a lot. Thanks again!

i don't have option Nvidia (NVENC) if i install from repository i have old NVENC, i need (new NVENC).

@@Kyjorei Hello, so I tested OBS NDI and encoding on x264 to not load in the GTX 980 game, today I added to the second computer Nvdia Quado P400 for streaming on NVENC, because Pascal is a little better than Maxwell, and now that I can use NVENC I have a problem with added OBS NDI plugin, how to solve it? I'm using Ubuntu 19.04. In Obs Studio from the repository the NDI plugin works, but NVENC does not work, NVENC works from your guide, but I have a problem with the NDI OBS plugin.

I have these options available, but by using them the final video looses like 90%+ of the frames and is total garbage. When using x264 it records perfectly but eats up CPU.
