Do not rush it.. wait for a bit, motherboard manufacturers need to solve all the weird ram issues and OS schedulers need some improvements also before we can see the real potential of this cpu

I had the same knee-jerk reaction, "wtf, different GPUs"... being CPU bound however, you're right, this makes sense.

i know sadly there wasnt 1070 tests done by phoronix, but most games as you can see are cpu bound anyway and theres no difference between GTX 1060 and 1080 so 1070 should be in the same spot.

Cool, I had bit of a trouble with my oldish Gigabyte board today, not only i had to use wine to unpack the .exe, but also my USB stick would't work, so I had to put it on In the EFI folder on my hard drive and than boot to Uefi. Glad to see it got easier. Thx for the reply:)

you download it, unpackage. put on a fat32 usb stick, go to UEFI and update. or it can ever download the bios file from internet directly and flash

Ok i did some testing: ##F1 2015, all maxed @1080p, AA=SMAA+TAA, 16xAF https://www.upload.ee/image/6768914/ss_11032017_10.05.20.png this is fucking amazing. i had around 30FPS only with FX on the start line, with thisone it was 58FPS there. Euro Truck is hard to test, but i drove in 2 Polish cities, Gdansk and some other, all maxed 1080p 400% render scale no drop down from 60 fps, i have vsync enabled there because game goes crazy with ingame menu fps wise. Did not have too heavy traffic though.

Haha! I did remember our systems were very similar at one point, but they were down to the clock speed identical: Arch Linux, MATE Desktop, 8320@4.5Ghz, 16GB DRR3 1600Mhz, GTX 970. It's crazy! lol It's good to hear that the minimum frames are up, that always really bugs me a lot (especially in Source games). No rush with those benchmarks, tough... Seeing Ryzen deliver like this is making it really hard to hold out on upgrading for a few more months! :P

had 8320@4,5Ghz.. subjectively saying.. the experience is miles smoother, i mean the minimum framerates or something seem to be really high compared to FX, even if the average numbers don't show huge improvements it some cases, the experience is much much better. I want to promise that i will get test your named games tomorrow, but i cant give you 100% answer.. i try to do that though :)

Thanks! Looking forward to hearing what those results are! How would you subjectively describe the gaming experience vs. your old 8320 (or was it the 8350)?

already got my kit. cant get over 2133mhz either. no matter what.. changing SOC voltage like they say in forums up to 1.2V doesnt help in my case also.. but at least i could get timings down quite a bit, so its 2133mhz with CL12 atm, works well. and is faster according to geekbench than 2933mhz (when i had 2x8GB) and CL16

It seems my memory will only go as far as 2133mhz currently due to the ucode in uefi and its limit to having 4 dimms being used. I have 4x8gb dimms that equal 32gb

i don't own those games and not planning to buy just for testing either, but i can probably run some valley benchmarks in wine and few games that have benchmark mode once i have some time.

Xpander69 I believe many people would be interested in hearing about Overwatch performance, but I personally would be very interested in Final Fantasy 14. Its difficult to tell if a game will benefit from the Ryzens multi cores over the Intel 7700, and even more of an unknown as to if those cores will all be utilized under Wine Staging
