yeah its just DXVK. for wine testing he should run without dxvk anyway, if this will cause same issues.

simplest debugging is running with export DXVK_DEBUG_LAYERS=1 and then checking into game folder after it has run, it creates 2 log files d3d11.dll one and dxdgi.dll post them on the github on dxvk with your hardware info and version you used.

PlayOnLinux doesn't allow you to use DXVK. For modern games you'd better use Lutris or pure Wine + DXVK

Can you create Lutris scripts so it becomes easy for everyone to install and play windows games on Linux? https://lutris.net/games/grand-theft-auto-v/ Lutris is much better than PlayOnLinux.

you can follow readme of the wine-vulkan here https://github.com/roderickc/wine-vulkan, it details what to do with json file and where to put it. as for compiling dxvk, you dont need this, check this: https://haagch.frickel.club/files/dxvk/ precompiled ones, read the readme there how to get them and use them

Sorry i should have been more specific enough. I can do it i just need something to follow a video would be nice. Also how do i get DXVK for Ubuntu based distros. And the JSON file where does this go that video doesn't show us where to put it. Does anything need to be changed and what for serton games.

in this case i think it isnt targeted for you atm, sorry to say that, but this thing needs some manual labor, unless lutris provides some builds in more automatic manner. DXVK is still experimental and needs some fiddling to get it work and then ofc to report bugs so the developers can try to fix issues. So if you really wan't to try this and do not know how to read the readme pages, then i suggest ask Lutris devs, or check out Lutris if they have some dxvk builds ready for you.

Kallestofeles made a guide for Witcher 3, which can be applied to this as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XmL9pO9ie4 Basically read the Readme here: https://github.com/roderickc/wine-vulkan to apply vulkan stuff do you wine (can use staging or whatever wine as well) And then https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk readme to check out how to get dxvk into your wineprefix. there are pre-compiled dll's available here: https://haagch.frickel.club/files/dxvk/

haven''t tried pure wined3d, but with staging and pba patched wine i had roughly about same fps, but in dx10 mode as dx11 mode has everything white layered. And in dx10 mode theres no nvidia pcss shadows so shadows flicker and are weird, so DXVK is the only option atm to play this game

i did nothing special, this video is 1,5 years old also though, but the sound should work just fine. what version of wine or proton you are using? all the latest wine versions should use faudio, or at least can be built with that which should take care of audio issues. If you still having those then i think somehting is wrong with your system

I have no idea about windows, but i hear some people are using it for some games. I guess downloading the DXVK and then put d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll into the GTA game folder should theoretically be all thats needed. Not sure 100% sure though, how it goes with Windows
