Very useful video for Linux users who wants to learn how to configure live stream by using GPU. And how is your FPS without recording?

@@xpander69 , can you record the same video with the VA-drivers (VAAPI)? It's very interesting what is the performance of VAAPI in this case. I think the performance of VAAPI is much worse than NVENC, but I can't check. In Arch Linux VA-drivers is provided by Nouveau open-source driver

@@ДядьМаск sorry i dont know about VAAPI. i only used nvenc and yeah its 5-10% more perf depending on the game when not recording. Never seen the hit be more than 10%

@@xpander69 , Do you mean usually around 5-10% MORE without recording by NVENC? So, i use VAAPI (in OBS, Kubuntu 20.04, Mesa 20.08, 1440p) and I get FPS drop down around 40% on my Sapphire RX Vega 64 Nitro+ in Dirt 4 (Vulkan API). Of course, VAAPI is not proprietary software, but high performance solutions (such as Radeon ReLive) is not available for Linux yet. By the way, using VAAPI with the same bitrate configuration causes FPS drop just around 5% in Dirt Rally (OpenGL, 1440p) or Interstellar Marines (OpenGL, 1440p), video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh5IFyUljDo&t=1458s, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9yCrmoT13c&t=1124s

without recording itus usually around 5-10% less depending on the game. Can't remember exactly for this game. but if a game uses 100% of your GPU then the drop in framerate while streaming is 10%, if it uses a bit less then its 3-5% drop in perf.
