Wine can be slow even with all the performance hacks. D9VK is already much, much faster and it's only a few months old project.

framerates,frametimes. opengl can be slow when translating from directx.

Performance is usually better with D9VK than WineD3D.

i havent used playonlinux but i guess you can for example use the same way as i did with proton, by copying the dll into the game folder and then using the same WINEDLLOVERIDE command in the playonlinux to execute before the game executable

Latest build might fix the cursor staying on screen problem, it fixed it for me on Alan Wake. I noticed it was a common problem on a few games.

heh :D im totally chill :) ... Easiest way i think is to grab the dlls from here: https://git.froggi.es/joshua/d9vk/-/jobs just make sure you know if the game is 32 or 64 bit, then copy the d3d9.dll into the game folder(where the game executable is) and use the steam launch option WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9.dll=n,b" DXVK_HUD=fps,frametimes,api %command% - the hud thingy you can remove if you dont want it on the screen, but its an easy way to be sure d9vk is loaded
