98% of games that has multiplayer can be played by any PC OS in same servers, server difference comes to play when using consoles, there it's problematic situation for users, and is much rarer to have console and PC players in same server. NB PC means personal computer, meaning it can run any OS (Operating System, like windows, linux or mac) on it.

how about mint ? i want to get back to linux but i always had bad times with arch based distros (manjaro and antergos) should i try arch or just stick with mint

That's my reccmendation also, use the distro you feel good with. I for example use Fedora in mate (Gnome3 has some problems with windowing and such).

stick with mint if you feel comfortable with it. There's no reason to switch distro unless you have something you need from other distros.
