yeah. more stuff to render. however some places where the fps drops down to 50s i see GPU usage drops from regular 95-99% down to 70% which indicates some kind of cpu bottleneck

Sadly the previous metro games on Linux are garbage. They have zero support. Multiple bugs with audio and graphics reported by a lot to of people. And many people had these issues. Fortunately I got a refund.

Sadly no info about it and since its Epic Game Store exclusive atm for 1 year, chances are slim. Maybe when it hits Steam next year it might get port, but i wouldn't hold my hopes

where do see that? i have no idea what version it has. But denuvo hasn't been an issue quite some time for wine, most of the games that use denuvo work fine in wine. EAC and Battleye are the roadblocks usually

probably with all low and render scale down or resolution lower. depends what you call playable.. if u are fine with 30-40 fps then i bet you can run it with low detail 1080p. dont quote me on that though.. check Hardware Unboxed Metro Exodus Benchmark, its windows benchmark but you can expect about 10% less performance, depeding on the CPU you have, if you have weaker cpu than they have there then you will have even lower fps in some places

It feels very Metro. First hour of the game is complete old metro experience, after that the game opens up a bit and has the semi-open world to explore, but its stil metro feel everywhere

Thanks for the tip with disabling blur, without setting it in the config I couldn't play it above low quality. Now it's working great on Wine Steam with tkg-protonified-faudio-4.4-x86_64, DXVK 1.0.1 and Esync enabled.

what you exactly want to know? proton, expect around 10% less performance with same hardware when it comes to dx11 games. native games, it depends, some games perform really bad, some pretty nice compared to windows, usually same 10-20% less performance. There are ofc some rare cases where you get better performance under linux. If you play games that require EAC or Battleye then they dont work at the moment, unless they are native games. Do you research, check protondb.com for games you want to play.

Very nice. I also got awesome results here, using DXVK/wine. I am using ArchLinux Endeavouros (i5-8600K + 16GB+1060 6GB) . And, I just want ask 2 questions: i) what software did you use for recording? While recording, I got low performance (more than a 10% drop). I tried OBS, SimpleScreenRecorder and Voko; ii) what utility you use for monitoring fps (at your top left)? Thank you so much!!

@@xpander69 Thank you by the indication of Goverlay, It is working. However, I am having problems with OBS (even using nvenc). I managed to get good performance in gaming+recording only with Vokoscreen.

Recording is OBS with nvenc (nvidia gpu encoder) and game window capture. Monitoring FPS is DXVK_HUD. if you launch it from steam then you can add launch options DXVK_HUD=fps,frametimes %command% .. There is also MangoHUD now and Goverlay to graphically configure the overlay

Uhh late reply. Didn't notice this comment before. If you are crashing in the desert map, then put the quality settings to medium there after that location you can crank the quality up again. Its a bug with the game. Happens on windows also but way less there, so i guess proton also picks up that issue then.

NOTE! I actually have even better performance now, about +5 FPS everywhere and a lot smoother as well as my CPU usage went from 55% to 30-38%. Turns out i had NVreg_UsePageAttributeTable=1 somehow added to startup. Which is some super old thingy . Still there are places in game where fps drops down to 55, Some open Areas, where my GPU usage drops down to 65%, probably still CPU bottleneck with Ryzen. I bet with recent Intel cpus you will get much better results
