Would be interesting if you'd properly walk through dalaran. That's usually the place that hurts my fps the most.

seems about normal. i get those drops in 25 man raids with 8700k especially mythic 120-down to 51 on windows 10 always had those fps drops on ryzen i own both 1800x and 1700 hoping the issue is fixed with the 2700x

update, seems i had bicubic thingy enabled from advanced settings (dont know if this affected the performance in dalaran) but now im getting 40+ in dalaran with busy streets. Its not bad i'd say

well thats the worst case scenario, with a lot of people, i havent done any 25 man raids or similar, but i have had huge fights in questing line endings where fps dropped to 40-50 mark, which is still not too bad. im not really a raiding person, more into the questing and then later pvp hopefully. Maybe someone else has tried 25man raids or similar.

Thank you, that likely means that during heavy encounters in raids the pba build wouldn't help too much. That's a bit sad as the benchmark looked promising.

2.21pba seems to do the best. Good comparison though. Thanks.

I'm glad you said that about the shader cache, I was about to kick 3.3-pba pre-built from lutris to the curb for that choppy movement.

Nice, 2.21 = more stability. in 3.3 pba it's good to sometimes get more fps, but isn't stable like 2.21 . Thx for sharing!

never used gallium nine myself, but in theory it should compile as nine version uses differend d3d9.dll i think? no idea though if it improves performance in this case or not. but i have heard AMD GPU users get better perf with pba patched regular wine than with wine-nine. so worth a test i guess. you can run multiple wines on the same system also by using scripts or PlayOnLinux or Lutris if you dont know how to do it. For example i extract the contents of compiled wine package to the game folder and run scripts like this: https://pastebin.com/KDNmpKDH to run on the said wine version and the prefix also inside the game folder. thatway games are all binded with it and i can freely move them to other HDDs without having issues to launching them

bnet, no idea, i just installed it and it worked :) it throws one error from times(after login) but it can be closed and it works fine. force your CPU to performance mode if you can, i dont think your 980Ti is the issue

@@Larryk17 Unfortunately theres not much you can do the, you really need newer GPU drivers. You can try PlayOnLinux also, but if i remember correctly it has pretty outdated scripts to manage wine games, but it might work for your case though

This is old video when WoW had directx9 rendering also and their directx11 was different, so i wouldn't use pba anymore for updated WoW. Use Lutris to install with DXVK, you will get much better performance

NOTE! wine-staging-pba 3.3 has some fps drops here in the benchmark, but it actually is quite smooth now after some use, probably filled shader cache or something like that at first

You could try dxvk as an addition. I don´t know if it will hit even the pba patched wine but its making a good job on Elder Scrolls Online. Maybe this is something 4 You. :D
